CQ Children’s Christmas Charity Event!

Every Year we do a charity event around Christmas and this year we are looking to help out a local children’s charity but we need your help picking a charity! We would like for it to be a place where children stay or come to play as we may have some bigger items that could help furnish a play room etc. We would like for it to be a charity who may not get noticed or get much help but welcome any and all ideas!

If you would like to nominate a charity for us to work on please post your nomination here! Tell us why you think we should pick them. We would also like to know the age range of kids and where the charity is located!

We are also looking to host a Local Tweet up for this event and get the media inolved! We are looking for a place that may want to volunteer a space for the Tweet up! This is a charity event and no profit will be made on the event. Any proceeds we generate or IF we generate will all be donated to the charity itself!

If you would love to get your company or brand involved in this event or donate product etc  for the charity please contact me at Promotions@ConsumerQueen.com . We welcome all other ideas as well!

I would like to nominate Youth and Family Services of Canadian County. It is an Emergency Youth Shelter for kids ages 0-18. These children come from a variety of situations. Some have been removed from their homes, some from foster homes, some need a "cooling off" period away from their parents, and some are runaways. They service youth from across the state and have even taken in youth from other states. The employees work hard everyday to encourage, counsel, and just have fun with these kids to give them a slice of normalacy while they are at the shelter!

I would like to nominate the Schriners Hospitals. This wonderful group of people have done nothing but help out children with medical problems for years and don't ask for a cent from their clients. I hear that they are experiencing tough times, and are considering closing down some hospitals. I experienced their help first hand when my son was born with a cleft lip and palate. Their doctors did and excellent job of repairing his lip, paid for transportation to their facilities, helped with braces, and had him as a patient until he was 18. He never would have gotten the excellent care he received if they hadn't of been there. They are all angels in my book.
  9. I would like to nominate Gilda's Club. It it provides a cancer-support community for those living with cancer. They have a special program in each Clubhouse called Noogieland that is exclusively for children impacted by cancer, either living with it themselves or a family member.

There are branches of this organization all over the country and I am working with the group that is in the process of bringing a Clubhouse to the Twin Cities. You can read more about the organization here http://gildasclub.org/ and see where its clubhouses are located.

If you have any questions about this organization, please let me know.

I would like to nominate the Bay Area Crisis Nursery in Northern California. The nursery is a place where parents who are in tough times, lost their home, in-between jobs, a death in the family, emergency or medical needs of some sort, can come and drop off their children and leave them there for 24 hours up to 30 days. The nursery takes children from newborn to 11 years of age. At the nursery they always make sure that the children have what they need, but sometimes it's diffucult for them to make sure they are able to provide the children clothes, food, etc. , because they do not have enough money. The nursery in my mind would be a very good choice to do as ur charity. Visit their website at www.bacn.info
