LeapPad 1 Explorer is one of the coolest toys that have been made for toddlers in recent years. My 4 year old (this is Princess Karen) had this LeapPad and LOVES it. I purchased the skin, the screen cover and the case for my son when I purchased the LeapPad. Please note it does NOT come with an a/c adapter; however, it is not a toy that can be charged and play later. The child must stay plugged in with the a/c adapter. I highly recommend 2 sets of 4 rechargeable batteries. One for in the LeapPad and one in the charger. Fully charged rechargeable batteries lasted about 7 hours in this unit.
