We were given the opportunity to review the Oreck Halo vacuum. We decided to let one of our moderators try it. They have 3 kids and a dog so this would be a great test for this vacuum! Not only that but they also have allergies so being able to keep the carpet clean is a big deal. We took the vacuum for a test drive our self and I loved the UV Light . I could not believe how well made the vacuum was.

“We were excited to test the Oreck Halo! The First thing we noticed was the sucking power it had. I was amazed at how much more dirt it picked up! It made our carpets look almost new. We just got a new dog and with the UV-C light we don’t have to worry about flea eggs or germs as it kills these things that you can’t see. We did see a couple of things we would change if we could. For a smaller house it seemed a little bulky and not as maneuverable as some other vacuums. But even with that we would recommend the Oreck Halo to anyone with kids or pets!”

I have 2 kids and a very furry dog. My current vacuum is slowy dying.
This sounds really great. I have pets and older kids. Also live where there is sand and you need lots of suction to get that out of a carpet.

I would love to have a new vacuum. With a son with allergies and a husband that is a farrier (remember the show Dirty Jobs?), this would be a great thing to have!
My entire house is in carpet except my bathrooms and kitchen. My daughter has asthma triggered by allergies and I have allergies so badly I usually end up with Broncitis at least twice a year despite useing all kinds of allergy meds. I would love to have on of these vaccums I just can’t afford one right now. My old vaccum which is another brand with a hepa filter is about ready to give up the ghost anytime now.

I would love to win this vacuum. I have bought two vacuums in the past three years and they just do not work. I will never buy another bagless again. I want a good old-fashioned vacuum with a bag. No more of this fancy cyclone, wind tunnel technology. It just spins dirt around and shoots it out the side. I have two dogs and two kids and need a good vacuum. I want to win this Oreck vacuum because I have a built in vacuum system and I HATE it. I’m tired of lugging that huge hose everywhere. I want a real vacuum but my husband says I can’t buy one because the house came with the built in system so I have to use it.

I want this vacuum because I really need a new vacuum–mine is very temperamental–half the time it decide to just blow dust around and forgets to suck it in.
My current vacuum does a lousy job of cleaning! It is a bagless unit, but the filter gets clogged and does pick up dirt and dust. I’d love to upgrade to something that actually works!

Why I want to win this vacuum? They only weigh 9 lbs. and I have a bad back. I’ve got a reasonably good Hoover vacuum, but I’ve found that if I go back over a spot that I’ve already vacuumed, more cat hair and dust and such comes up. With two cats and regularly having the windows open (as well as not vacuuming quite as often as I probably should), that’s a lot of cat hair and dust. I’d love a more efficient vacuum.

My husband and I need a new vacuum big time. Ours most of the time just moves the dirt and debris around. On top of that it makes our whole apartment stink. Unfortunately we are living paycheck to paycheck and can’t afford a new vacuum, because all of our money is going to living expenses and bad debt. I would like this vacuum because I do NOT like our Dyson. It doesn’t have good suction and it doesn’t work well on steps. Also, we have high traffic in our home with running a childcare program in a portion of our home so a good, durable vacuum cleaner would be a great help!

Well I currently have three cats and I just had to take in a puppy that my sister couldn’t take care of anymore due to recent health problems. And if that wasn’t bad enough my old Hoover Windless Vaccum just bit the dust. It’s hard to clean cat hair and puppy hair off the furniture with a lent brush.

OMG I want this Oreck bad!!! LOL I have always had issues with vaccum cleaners! I clog everyone and they all lose suction! I lose a lot of hair and it all over the place I would have to vaccum everyday (if i had time!) I also would love to have cleaner air especially in my bedroom.

Well, I would love to win this because I have never had what you would call a “good” vacuum. It has either been a hand-me-down one or yard-saled one. My entire family suffers from allergies and I hear that this vacuum would do wonders for us in that arena!
This would also help my mother, aunt & grandfather. How you ask? Well, my mom gave up her apartment to move in with my grandparents and take care of them. We lost my grandmom in June. I help by going down and cleaning with my homemade products because the store bought ones have too many chemicals that effect my grandfather’s breathing conditions. He has gone though A LOT! While I’m down that way, I swing by my aunt’s apartment and clean because she helps out my mom when she can!

My vacuum is more than a decade old. I don’t even think it really sucks in any dirt and I don’t believe there are vacuum bags made for my specific model but I haven’t bought a vacuum bag in so long that I wouldn’t even know. My entire house is carpeted – which I hate btw – and I keep it clean by making everyone take off their shoes at the front door and walk around in their socks and slippers. I NEED a new vacuum. I don’t know how long this current situation will last.

I so would love to own this Vacuum~! I have Asthma and Allergies and even though I take my singular and advair each day when I vacuum with my 30 yr old hand me down electrolux from my mother it puts me into an attack each time. That’s why I have giving the job of vacuuming to my other family members and I hate relying on them because I like taking care of the house myself. They never move the furniture or get in the corners like I do and I’d much rather do it myself. I’m not complaining because before my mother gave me her old machine I was hand sweeping them with a broom and that just didn’t work I would have to actually leave the house from all the dust. My vacuum cleaner bit the dust a few weeks ago. I purchased 2 other vacuums and had to return them both because they just couldnt do the job well enough. Even if I do not win this vacuume, I am going to need to try this brand. I am sure happy that this product was reviewed. With 3 dogs, I desperately need a decent vacuume.

Here’s the truth…my husband thinks the vacuum cleaner he had before we were married is terrific. But it doesn’t work well at all, and it’s very hard to push. (Even his mom agrees!) I have 4 kids and vacuum at least 3 times a day. I’d love to vacuum with a vacuum that I like and works well. Currently I’m using a Shop Vac. It sucks and not in a good way.

Of course it’s too big to leave out, so it’s stored in the basement, which means I have to lug it up and down the stairs everyday. the old vacuum broke and wasn’t working so well anyway. I need to win this because I probably won’t buy new unless I win the prize, the vacuum needs to last at least 10 years, and function as advertised. Oreck seems to have a good rep and fits the bill.

Sometimes at 3 am its hard to get her up and breathing right and that first cough makes my heart literally stop in dread. No parents should ever have to see that look in their childs eyes. It happens so fast She will have an attack , fall back and seize and have a cardiac respitory arrest.. We have an Oreck but its an older model and well I think there is things in the carpet we can’t see. I very badlly want one of these but with lay offs and the economy I just can’t afford one..

Wow..what a great giveaway. Ever since I first heard of the the Halo I have wanted one. I love that it kills germs and those nasty dust mites. I’ve always told my mom that when I finish college I am going to purchase one of these. However, it would be awesome to win one and have it a bit early.

I could really use this vacuum as I have two kids who track in all the dirt from the new houses they are building around us. With all of the rain that has fallen, you can imagine all of the mud that is everywhere and my children can find a mud puddle in their sleep.

I want an Oreck Halo sooooo bad! First of all, I really need a new vacuum. Mine is just not doing a great job. Second, I am a germ-a-phobe and would be so much more at ease if I knew my vacuum was killing germs. I also have a cat and 2 dogs, so I really think this vacuum would help keep my home cleaner and healthier.

I need a new strong vacuum so I can keep my carpets. We just had a new baby and my wife thinks that carpets are too dirty for the baby to crawl on. A good strength vacuum would do wonders to calm her fears.

My current vacuum is a Sears which is 11 years old. She is on her last leg. i could use on of these amazing Orecks.
I’m in need of a new vacuum since my last one caught fire (no kidding!) The few before that were constantly breaking belts. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Oreck and I would love to win this
I’m a stay at home mom of 4 kids, a rescued cat and dog, and a hubby. Hubby was going to get me a new vacuum but hard times hit, he’s been laid off work. He still promises a new vac, when times get better, but it would be cool to win one. Lord knows my floors need it!

I would love to have this! My old vacuum is just about shot and I have 3 cats so I worry about mites and fleas all the time.
The vacuum I currently use is about to bite the dust…it doesn’t really work at all. I can go over the same area like 1 million times but when I lay on the floor I see tons of hair and dirt…eewww!! It would also be wonderful to have because I suffer from allergies. Thanks for the chance!

I recently broke my eight year old vacuum and really need a new one. My kids and I are allergy sufferers so I make sure I vacuum my house regularly.

Oreck is the first brand that comes to mind regarding vacuums, and the UV-C light technology is a definite advantage over regular cleaners. That’s a win-win reason why we would love to replace our current (read virtually antique) vacuum with an Oreck Halo!

I need this because I have a crappy Sears vacuum that is the worst Vac I have ever owned. It is so hard to push, falls over, pieces fall off,stinks, and is just a piece of junk! I really hate it! To top it off, it is bright yellow like a taxi. Can you say UGLY?!

I really want this vacuum. The one I have cost me about $150 and it has no suction. I see things on my carpet that it does not pick it. It is a horrible vacuum. I really need a new one.

I just moved and need a vacuum. You will note a didn’t say a new vacuum. I do not have one. I have been borrowing from neighbors. This is not a good introduction to the neighborhood. ‘did you meet the new neighbor who is always borrowing’. Please help me regain my dignity.
Cat hair seems to be the main culprit around here! That is my #1 reason for wanting a Dyson. That & they appear to actually work & be built to last & be effective.

I need this because with twin 2 year olds that manage to lick everything in the house, having something to combat the germs at floor level would be such a help!
I want this vacuum because the one I keep using and will until it dies or I get a new one doesn’t even do the job anymore. It seems to stir up more dust than it gathers. I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around the allergens and dust mites and germs and I don’t know what all is being left behind or worse scattered even more!

I have been wanting one of these vacuums since they first came available.
I have a family that we all have some type of allergy’s, my son has been hospitalized twice for his pollen allergy’s as they sometime trigger his asthma. I feel the halo would be so wonderful in the fact that it kills germs, pollens, mold and much more so my family could breath so much better. Sadly being a family with just one income we have to budget so buying a halo is not a option for us at this time.Our old vacuum is a dust blower it seems like all the fine particles seep back into the air when vacuuming so I hate to use it and my family hates when I use it so needless my vacuuming went from daily to weekly which is driving me crazy as our carpet is a dirt and dust magnet so winning the halo would be a fantastic treasure for our family as our carpet would be clean and germ free.

I know it sounds weird but my 4 yr old rather look at vacuums than toys at the store. He has 5 pretend sweepers and vacuums the carpets for me. Our vacuum just blew up and I has to buy a new one. with 2 of the kids bdays coming and christmas I bought the cheapest one I could find. I want to win this Oreck vacuum because I have heard good things about it. We don’t usually get more than 1-2 years out of the vacuums we have bought so I would like a good one that lasts.
