What do you look for when you are looking to buy a vacuum cleaner?  Price?  Suction?  Attachments?  HEPA filter?  Able to clean multiple surfaces?  Well look no farther!  The Eureka SuctionSeal has all of these and more. We have hardwood floors and carpet, not to mention tile, in our house so we tend to be hard on vacuum cleaners.  As you can see in the picture, we have destroyed 2 DYSONS.  With the Eureka SuctionSeal vacuum I’m able to go from surface to surface with the flip of a switch.  What’s even cooler is that I can turn the beater bar on or off without even bending over!  That’s right they have a lever you can operate with your foot!  That may seem like a little thing but with my disease (Ankylosing Spondylitis) that is a chore in itself!  Another cool feature is the retractable cord.  It rolls up automatically with the push of a button, no more tangles cords.  The Eureka SuctionSeal also comes with just about every attachment you will ever need!  And with it costing about half the price of a Dyson, it’s a clean sweep!

Here are some of the features of SuctionSeal:

Deep Cleaning Power on All Floors. Proven to Clean Carpets Better Than Dyson DC25 and DC41 For Less Than ½ The Price,*  the SuctionSeal™ bagless upright combines Eureka exclusive AirSpeed® Technology with SuctionSeal™ Technology for deep cleaning power on all floor surfaces.

SuctionSeal Technology – SuctionSeal Technology with All-Surface Suction Plates concentrates airflow for deep cleaning suction power. As you move across carpet, hardwood or tile floors the plates raise and lower, creating a seal to maximize airflow for powerful cleaning performance. Whether it’s surface dirt or debris hiding in crevices, it’s sucked up and away without any scattering.

AirSpeed Technology - Unlike other vacuums, AirSpeed® Technology has two smooth tubes, featuring limited bends and turns. This allows more air to pass through the vacuum. The direct air path from floor to cup, decreases the distance for dirt to travel, which increases the amount of airflow for powerful suction.

Never Loses Suction** Eureka has engineered SuctionSeal™ to provide maximum suction power longer than other types of vacuums***.  Tested to strict industry standards, Eureka’s multi-cyclonic dust cup system never loses suction and maintains power as you vacuum your home.**

All-Surface Cleaning – Designed to deep clean carpets, bare floors, upholstery and more. The SuctionSeal features on board tools, a stair and upholstery turbo brush and a 39 foot hose and wand to clean above the floors. The on/off brushroll switch lets you clean carpets and bare floors.  This model includes an ARM & HAMMER® HEPA filter to eliminate odors and reduce allergens for a cleaning home. This is a Walmart exclusive model.

*Based on a comparison between (a) regular MSRP of Eureka SuctionSeal™ and Dyson DC25 and DC41 vacuums as of November 2011 (b) independent lab tests using industry standard ASTM F608 test, measuring embedded dirt removal from carpeting.
**Eureka proves no loss of suction through IEC Test 60312-1 First Edition, Clause 5.9.  Test results within variability tolerance of 5%.
***When compared to conventional bagged and single stage cyclonic vacuums having dirt cup filters.

I am SO glad that you have written this article!! I also have ankylosing spondylitis (which in my case is rare as I am female..but that’s another story).. I have recently blown up my Rainbow (which we purchased second hand so cheaper) and we have been shopping for another vac for about a week and this is one we have been looking at. I was really looking for a canister because all the uprights were just too heavy for me to lug around and thus made vacuuming too infrequent. We were also considering a Dyson but just couldn’t see spending that much. I like having a real endorsement instead of just the reviews on the web. Thanks so much again for your article.

Awesome write-up on this vacuum! I’m actually in the market for a new vacuum – I have a Bissel which really does not work that well and all the hair on my carpet does not get sucked up! I heard Dyson’s the best but it’s so pricey!

We have a lot of hair in our house. Do you know if that would clog up this vacuum? That always seems to be our problem. Thanks for the review.

Hey Tina, honestly we haven’t had the vacuum long enough to let you know. It looks like it could handle it though. We have 2 dogs. We will be posting updates as we use it.

I would love to win this vacuum. It looks awesome! I have an old Hoover given to me by a friend and it smells when I vacuum even with clean bags. She had a dog for years and I think somehow the pet dander is still in the vacuum. It would be so nice to have the house clean and smell clean at the same time. I will keep my fingers crossed! Thank you!

I need a new vacuum. Mine is falling apart. It was a consumer report’s best buy…..I would have to disagree!! Here’s hoping for a new vacuum, that doesn’t have to suck up its own broken pieces. :)

I really need a new vacuum. Mine is on the way out. I am glad you posted this even if I don’t win, because it is good to know how a vacuum works before you buy it. The last one I got looked comparable to my previous one, but I haven’t been happy with it since I got it. Thanks!

With lots of messy kids (2 of my own and 6 Day Care) it seems I am always having to vacuum. Since my 2 daughters and I both have long hair, we are very hard on vacuum cleaners and we go through them often. The one we are currently using is loud and smells like something is burning. (No, it’s not the belts we’ve checked.)
