I was wondering if everyone has a price list. Do you think it is important to have one to find the best deals?

Do you mean a price comparison sheet?

I have always made my own price list. I highly doubt a store would giv out a price list since it would make it too easy for competitiors.

I wrote down what my family purchased every single month and then kept track of those deals for several months and I was able to see what was actually a stock up price on certain things.

I have also been trying to figure out a way to have a list of items and their prices. I typically over the last few years have shopped at Wal-mart (lack of much else and convient), I am self employed and therefore keep almost every receipt that I get. I have debated using excel, a microsoft program, to compile the items and the prices I have paid over the last few years, but not sure if it would be beneficial on prices, more on what we typically buy in a year. Any other ideas?

It is very simple to do. Make a list of everything you normally buy and then get a notebook and make a list of all those items in all of the sizes that are available and for the next 3 months take it with you when you go into the store and write down the prices of the items. That will take you through 3 months of sale cycles and you can decide what is a stock up price for the items you buy.

I need to do another one soon since I lost mine. If people tell me what they are looking for I can make one up and if everyone interested would send me the prices of the things (I am sure the list will be long) I can keep track on an excel spreadsheet.

Some of the items are right. Others are incorrect based upon my store. The best thing to do is to make your own!
