1. I don't buy my lunch meat in the deli anymore. I buy a ham and have it sliced and have our lunch meat for a few months. I package them individual and freeze until I am ready to use.The price is $1.89 a pound compared to $4.00 a pound.
2. Meatless Monday's we go at least one day a week meatless to save money.
3. Friday pizza night isn't gone at our home, we just make them ourselves and save $23.00
If you have any frugal tips please add. Thank you!

When i find roast on sale i grab 3 or 4 and have them ground up into hamburger meat and have it wrapped into 2lbs bundles. Not only is it cheaper that way, but it has less fat in the meat.

Hubby and I always bring lunch to work. I get up a 1/2 hour ealy every morning to make him a hot breakfast and a nice lunch. Just recently I found a (M&M) thermos on clearance at Homeland and today he had chicken noodle soup with added Shrimp for lunch!

I also take the little leftover bits of meat and turn them into flautas. I am not too big into homemade soups so this ensures that the meat will be eaten.

I buy my meat once a month and I have them package it into the sides I want and that way I do not have to repackage it or pay for ziploc freezer bags.

I buy jalapenos and onions while they are on sale and then cut a bunch of them up and freeze them so they do not go bad and it cuts down on prep time later on.

I keep simple meal items on hand so when I do not feel like cooking it is not an automatic time to eat out. The flautas form leftovers are there. Some shrimp chopped up and put with cheese between two tortillas makes shrimp quesodillas.

I write companies and have them mail me FREE coupons.

I help one girl study for her BSN and since her family is friends with us we can use their industrial washer and dryer while I am helping her study since I am there anyways (I could do this without helping her study but this way it makes me feel like I am not taking advantage)...save me about $20 a week. So get to know your motel owners...LOL

I cut coupons and get coupon from other people also.

I use everything down to the least bit I can and I try and save everything. If food is spoiling soon we will eat it or convert it. For instance bread that is going stale will get turned into bread crumbs or I will use it in pineapple stuffing. Leftover meat flautas,

I also try and multipurpose meals (especially on weekends) so I do not have to use the oven or stove that much. For instance on Saturday afternoon I may cook a ham for dinner that night and then have ham and egg omlets in the morning or ham sandwiches for lunch and then use the bone to flavor water or to put in with beans I make for hubby.

I do the same. Not only is it cheaper, but I just have to know what I'm getting. I don't like "mystery meat"! But I wanted to mention that not only do I get it ground, I also get it cut into thin cut steaks for Phillies, and also get stew meat, stir fry, etc. This makes it come to a literal fraction of the regular costs for these cuts. 8)

The bottom rounds are on sale at Publix this week for $1.99lb. I plan on getting about 15-16 lbs. I call ahead and it's waiting for me when I get there. You just gotta love Publix. They're still a store that gives great customer service. Rare and few between these days!

Theresa :)
