I just got home from Church tonight and Karen had left a voicemail. She said her son is currently in surgery. I have no idea what is going on. I just called her cell and left a voicemail!

Karen just called they are at Deconess, and her son Alex (oldest) is in emergency surgery to have his appendix removed. Please keep her in your prayers. They are trying to figure out wether to do it laproscopy or the old fashion way.

They took Alex's appendix out laproscopically. He handled anestethia well. His white blood count was fine this morning and no fever so he is home now. Hard to believe at 11am yesterday I got a call that he was ill. I picked him up at 3:00 and at 4:30 we went to the dr. he had problems standing, walking and it hurt when he laughed. Dr sent up to ER and by 5:30 we were in the back and were trying to rule it out. By 8ish he was in surgery. Talk about fast. Surgeon said if he did not get it out last night it would have burst. Good thing he was coming to my house and I took him to the dr.

Oh my gosh, that is crazy. My son had his removed about 3 years ago when he was 5 and he was in the hospital for 4 days. I think his was farther though, they said when they got in there it was just starting to rupture, he was very lucky little boy. Thats great that they were able to do it that way for your son.
