Please everyone pray for Britta's grandson, I'm not sure how much info she wants to share with everyone, but I know it's serious. She didn't ask me to post this but I felt I needed to reach out to all of you for your prayers. So everyone please pray!

Thanks beth, my grandson was admitted to childrens hospital last night. This was the third hospital we took him to in 3 days. They ran all kinds of tests and last thing they did was a catscan. My precious little grandson has a braintumor and is now fighting for his life. We are waiting for them to do a mri so they can see what they need to do. The tumor is big and deep in the brain, they drilled a hole in his skull to relieve the pressure for now. I'm trying to keep my head up but most of here know how close I am to him and honestly I'm scared to death and trying to hang on with 4 hours of sleep since saturday just pray for him please I can't loose my little buddy thanks guys

It is hard when children are sick. and this may sound weird BUT the good news is they FOUND IT! now that they have found it they can CURE IT! now is the time to get on teh computer and do research about different cancer centers who treat brain cancer in children. There are groups out there who will help your daughter and her family if they choose to go out of state. Ronald mc donald house is a awesome place. Support groups are also a must for the parents. The hard part will be waiting waiting for answers waiting for doctors. etc...
There is soooooooooooooooo many treatment plans out there .. treatment changes every day... I have a friend who helps people who are going through this her email is mspinkladybug@yahoo.com feel free to talk to her and she can help guide your family and point you in the direction
I had a friend who was worte off as dead she had 3 the size of lemons in her brain and she went to San Frisco and wham is here today. HOPE NEVER GIVE IT UP!!

He is in our prayers. If you are seeing pediatric nueros let me know and I can tell you some to AVOID!! I also have connections with the EFA and AES and they refer perdiatric nueros also!

Oh my gosh Britta I am soooooo sorry. I said a prayer this morning for you guys. I pray that got will help the Drs as they try to find a way to help him, I pray that God will keep you and you daughter strong through this time. You are such a great grandma!!!!!! Please keep us updated as you find things out!

I have 2 grandchildren of my own. One is almost 3 and the other is 6 months old. I can't imagine being in your shoes. My daily prayers are with you and your family. Let us know if you need anything.

Children are resilient! I have seen alot of neuro surgery and children can come back from anything. God can make new brain tissue and neurons, although we cant. I will pray that you will get a good Dr that has operated this far down in the brain. With the new lasers, they might not have to operate yet. If I may ask, what kind of cancer is it? I will pray that this particular type of growth will shrink and his body will absorb it as though it was never there. The only one that loses is the one that gives up. Your strength will improve, but your mind is over loaded. You have a great string of God fearing women that are praying for you and our God listens! Things always come out good for those that love the Lord, so do not fear. Leslie

Today, friday, will be surgery day, they are not exactly sure when he'll go in because they have another pretty long operation first thing in the morning so whenever they get done with that they'll get ready for my grandson. They noticed one of his pupils was acting strange this evening so they took him back to catscan and found out that the other side of his brain was building up fluid also so they drilled another hole in the skull on that side and placed another drain.
The test that they thought would come back positive today came back negative so it wasn't the type of tumor they had thought...so when they go in tomorrow they will also get a part to do a biopsy, we might have the results for those back monday or tuesday. They are trying to go in remove as much as they can without getting too close to anything important such as the optical nerve, they are hoping to take out half and destroy the rest with chemo, i asked the resident neurosurgeon how comfortable they are about this surgery this is what he said:
if we thought it was too risky we wouldn't do surgery
We did two very similiar surgeries like this in the past 2 weeks, one of them was yesterday.

They might have to place a shunt in him, but that's not for certain yet and they know a lot but a lot of it will depend on when they actually see the tumor and see what all is effected. MRIs and catscans can only show them so much.
We'll be in the surgery waiting area most of the day, it'll be probably the hardest day for us yet, not sure i'll be able to check email.

Oh Britta I am so sorry!!! You know how I was when Kolton was in the hospital I can only imagine how you feel...he is such a precious little guy..please keep your head up and trust in the Dr's. If there is anything that I can do just let me know. Be strong for Mommie cause she is gonna need it!!!

If you see this know we are all praying for Grandson, Daughter, Dr's and you today. If you need anything, please let me know.. you know how to contact me. I mean it, from the bottom of my heart. Just know God's Hands are working through the surgeon's today... and HE will be there the whole time with your Grandson!
