My son was diagnosed with ADHD and a impulsive disorder on Monday, when I can home my husband flat out told me that if I go ahead and give the medicine to my son then he will pack his things and leave me to raise him on my own!! He wont even listen to anything I say or even care about my feelings in this matter!
My son had to do an EKG yesterday to make sure his heart is in good condition before we put him on these meds. He is not taking Ritilin, it is called Vyvanse. My husband says that he wants me to take my son to at LEAST 15, yes you read correctly 15!!, other doctors and IF ALL 15 agree with the current DR then he will THINK about letting my son have the meds....now some of you know me and my family already...my son (as all my kids) is very smart, funny, etc BUT one day a few weeks ago he got ontop of the lunch room table ran across it as fast as he could and jumped as far as he could AND he also dropped his pants in his classroom and exposed himself BOTH of those happened within 3 HOURS of each other AND he gets into trouble EVERY DAY at school!!
I have been a single mom before (was one for 8 years with my daughter) and I have NO problems doing it again!!! The problem I am having is the fact that my husband said he would see my son every now and again (which is just like when he sees his daughter which is maybe 1 hour at Thanksgiving, 1-2 hours at CHRISTmas, 1 hour at Easter...you get the idea) my son is 5 and he LOVES his father even though his father is not the best father.
Please just keep my son more than anyone in your prayers because he already has adhd, impulsive disorder and he is starting to become an angry child (SOMETIMES) I know I will have to get him some professional help but I am a SAHM and have NO income right now besides my husbands....
Sorry this is so long I have more to say but it is on another topic (just about me and my husband....lets just say he left me, yes thats right LEFT ME, at the COX CENTER downtown in the rain at night to WALK HOME!! I live @ NW 50th and Tulsa!!!)
TIA for all your prayers I know GOD will take care of me as he did that night and as he does EVERY DAY, but the emotional hurt is what bothers me the most.....

You and your kids are definitely in my prayers. I have been there. I dont know how old you are but my light bulb went on at 30 and me and my 3 childen are just fine now after many prayers.

i read your post when you first posted it, and you've been in my prayers, i've started to reply a few times and then ended up erasing it and not replying at all, i somehow can not put in writing what i would like to say without it sounding harsh, i'll leave it at that.
