My middle son will be tested for this on the 24th (http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/health/voice/auditory.asp / http://www.innovative-therapies.com/auditory.htm#what1 )

His hearing is normal but this may explain alot. I am not sure what to think at this time. Soo much is going on this is just another thing to handle. Poor boy is already learning delayed with ADD

I have heard of this, and often wonder if my son has something similar, he has never been tested. Who tested your son, a physician? Anyways, I am glad you are getting a handle on this now, it will help him down the road with academics, and possibly get him on an IEP. That way he will not slip through the cracks of school academic system. I will pray for you all.

My son already has an IEP for his learning delays. We went to an audiologist for a regular hearing test (referred by our regular Dr) and when his testing came back normal I asked why he always says what? huh? and why his teachers complain. This testing takes 2 hours and you have to do a regular test first.

On a side note my older kids use the St Anthony Total Care Clinic in Homeland as their PCP and I have found that they are very willing to refer for testing if there is even a doubt. See I love Homeland I can do tons of stuff there. IF Dr is running late we can shop and no need for extra stop for meds or coup or juice if needed I am already there!

Update:

My son was diagnosed with Auditory Response Problems yesterday. The audiologist said he may have to wear an FM system in school. She is mailing the report to me on Wednesday so I will know more by next weekend. She said after I get the report to call her and she will explain it all sicne she has to do some calculations to determine the levels.
