homemade weed killer
1 gallon vinegar
1 cup salt
1 tbsp liquid dish soap

have heard if you add a little more salt to the mixture it will keep the weeds gone even longer....just a suggestion as this cost about $2.00 to make for a gallon where as that round up stuff is almost $10.00!!!

Also if you do this at the end of fall when your beds are done for the winter you will have a weed free bed in the summer:

Spray bleach on the beds.
Cover with a black trash bag (securely)

Let sit for a month or two. Will kill everything underneath. Then uncover. You should have a weed free bed to start new with. I was told this by a lady who used to work for the MWC Parks and Rec Dept when I lived in MWC. She used to live across the street with me and saw me fighting with the weed bed the previous owners had left me.

This sounds great, I don't like spending so much on the chemicals or using them, but they work. I hope this works too!

Do you pour this at the roots, or put in a sprayer and spray the whole plant? Thanks!
