If you have are new to couponing or just new to Krogering here is some info that will help you understand how the deals are posted.

Double - Triple Coupons - Most Kroger Stores Double the face value of coupons up to and including .50 and some will Triple up to .35. If you happen to have one of the stores that triple you may get a better deal on some items.

Several times a year Kroger will have sales that are "Buy 10 participating items and get $5 off your purchase" - you can usually get this 3x per transaction (shopping trip). The final price listed in the deals section will be AFTER the sale price.

Definitions:
BOGO means Buy 1 get 1 FREE
Inserts from Newspaper:
RP = Redplum (Valasis)
P&G = Proctor & Gamble
S = Smartsource
S1 & S2 = Smartsource - A few times a year there are two inserts
N/C = No Coupon Found - Not all items listed will have an active coupon but may be listed as a good buy.

If there is a printable to make the item even less we will try to post that also.

Example:
Hillshire Farm Smoked Link Sausage 14-16 oz
01-25 RP $.65/1 $1.80

01-25 RP: this means from the Sunday January 25 2009 Red Plum insert

$.65/1
for .65 off 1 item

$1.80 is the final price after sale and coupon

If there is anything you don't understand, just ask. Your input is needed. You may have a deal in your area that we don't. Please post your deals for the other members.

For those of you who want an even better deal on your purchases, make sure you have a Kroger card and download ecoupons onto it from these sites:

http://www.shortcuts.com
http://www.cellfire.com
http://www.kroger.com
http://www.upromise.com (at this site -- instead of discounting your item, the money goes into a college savings account)

If anyone has problems or questions about any of these, please ask!

The sites change coupons at different times. Cellfire and Shortcuts usually update as the manufacturer dictates there is a new coupon(usually about 2 weeks). Pgesaver gives the dates on the home page. This last round was good until March 31.

oops! sorry I forgot to answer the second question!

You can login to shortcuts and click the contact us link - that will take you to a place where you can tell them it didn't take off the coupon and it will ask for info from the receipt. They will then check it and add the shortcuts cash for the amount or more to your card which comes off on your next visit.

Oh, yay :) I just asked this over in the coupon section, but I'll ask it here since this is up right now.

Can I use a reg. and a BOGO coupon? For example:

buy 2 items
use 1 $.xx coupon for one item
use BOGO coupon for second item
(first item would be the "buy one", second item would be the "get one")

Does that make sense? I'm going shopping tomorrow morning, so I'm eager to see if I can do this or not :) Thanks!!!!

You would have to buy 3 items to use both coupons. I do understand what you are asking. That is called "stacking" and most stores will not allow it. Typically a coupon will say "Not valid with any other coupon" or some such wording.

Does that explain it? We are always happy to help.

has anybody had the problem with shortcuts coupons not coming off? i have two not come off last week so they credited me a dollar for my next purchase there. And I have been back twice with it not coming off. And the last time I went I had another coupon not come off. If they keep crediting the account and those dont come off then it does me no good. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I had that problem for a while then things staretd clicking again. Go ahead and contact them with a message about the issue. Let them know it's not worth your time if it doesn't work. You may get a surprise.

I have that problem all the time. They used to correct it, then I'd get the money on my next purchase. Lately, they haven't been coming off, and they keep rejecting my claims. The cash hasn't been coming off either. I finally did get a phone call from someone from shortcuts, but she called while I was away. She said she'd call back the next day but never did. I am getting annoyed with them.

I will try to remember to ask ConsumerQueen. Is this the one you would like sticky'd?
