My mom called me last night and then again today. Her brother has been in a wheel chair for several weeks from pain. He finally went to see a neurologist. They said he did something to his spinal cord. He has a hole in it that they said he has had for awhile and could have even been born with it. They gave him some meds and the pain was eventually supposed to go away as he healed (he apparently wrenched it or something). The doctor called today and he told my aunt to get him back to the hospital, they just got his results for his spinal tap and he has a bacterial infection. I don't know what kind but he is on antibiotics and hopefully will get better soon. (He is a carpenter and can't really work well from a wheelchair).

Sounds like bacterial meningitis maybe? I was diagnosed with viral meningitis two years ago. It took three dr appts and two er visits and an MRI to finally get the correct diagnosis and that took 2 weeks. They kept telling me I was having muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders. I'm glad they've finally figured out what the issue is for him. I'm praying for a quick recovery, and lots of patience for him. It can be very trying to be in that much relentless pain for so long. Keep us updated, please.

My uncle is doing good he went home yesterday. He is not on IV's at home (my aunt is a nurse so they could have sent him home with one if needed). Thank you forall your prayers!
