When a consumer is mislead about a product or has a bad experience they have every right to call and complaing. BUT...... Does it actually work? Could it make things
worse?

Calling on Coupon Use:

When calling to complain about a store's coupon policy you really need to weigh your options. Make sure your call is going to better your situation not make it worse. For example :

Better your situation:

When a store employee says they won't take a manufacturers coupon and a store coupon and they won't ask a manager for help. You need to call.


Worsen your Situation:

When a store dosn't have a set coupon policy and you call and complain because one manager will let you do this but the other manager down the street won't. DON"T CALL !!!!!! Be happy that one store will let you. Because the end result could very well be that you will get bit in the butt and both stores will stop what ever they were doing for you just because they are tired of complaints.

Calling on Bad products:

When calling on a product make sure you have read the pkg carefully do not call a company because you had a Forest Gump moment and your complaint has nothing to do with the manufacturing of the product and it was really fault of your own. (i.e. bought the wrong product or you just don't like the taste)To many false complaints can drive coupons and sales down.

For example:

I have heard people call and complain because it took longer than 1 min. to cook there product. When on the pkg it says" MIcrowave Times and Wattage Varies" or I grabed the buffalo wings and I really want BBQ wings. This is what I call a Forest Gump complaint.

A legit complaint would be I bought this product and it was moldy or product was missing(This would be considered at the manufacturer or stores fault)

How to get the Best Customer service:

When calling a company for ANYTHING make sure you speak clearly and slow. Mostly likely they are taking notes on your conversation and if your hoping to get compensated you better hope they get the correct info.

If you get a machine and you have to leave a message make sure you leave a detailed message not just your name and #. That way the person getting the message can look up the info they need to help you before calling you back so as to not waste your time on the phone.

If you get a bad product DO NOT THROW IT AWAY, if you are legit and you have some thing bad the company will need to get info from the contents or need to actually retrieve the product in some cases.

Don't write to a company with a complaint and then not send contact info still hoping to get something.

Most companies now require some kind of proof of purchase. As the economy continues to spiral down more people are looking for creative ways to save a buck and manufacturers are catching on. What they don't realize is its causing manufacturers to "Re Think" promotions and you don't know how many times I have heard manufacturers say " we would love to offer this promotion but......".

I will add more as I think of them. If you have a tip or an idea on calling companies let us know.

Just remember to use your common sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so here are a few more tips for complaining.
NEVER argue with a cashier It is like arguing with a 2 year old! ALWAYS ASK FOR A MANAGER. When that person comes up it may be an assistant manager or a supervisor because the manager may have gone home for the day so if THAT person can not solve the issue then ask when the manager will be back in. Then call or better yet come in and talk with the manager NOT DO NOT COME IN AT BUSY TIMES!
Ok so your are still upset an the manager was no help at all
THEN ASK FOR THE district managers NUMBER... USUALY THAT PERSON CAN HELP SOLVE THE ISSUE.
' calling corporate should be last resort!!! WHY I will go into that another day............

So lets say you have to call corporate. RULES DO NOT FLY OFF THE HANDLE! SATAY CALM! i MYSELF AM FAMOUSE FOR FLYING OFF THAT HANDLE I ONCE TOLD A COMPANY THAT THEY HAD BEST HAVE THERE INSPECTOR EYES TESTED AND WHILE THEY WERE AT IT TEST HIM FOR DRUGS CUS HE MUST OF BEEN ON THEM WHEN HE WORTE THSI REPORT! LET ME TALL YA I WAS SO MAD FLAMES WERE COMMING OFF ME I SHOULD NOT OF CALLED I SHOULD OF WAITED TO CALM DOWN

ONCE YOU ASK LIKE A JERK THEY DO NOT TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY AND IT IS ALL DOWN HILL!
BE POLITE! NO CUSSING! NO NAME CALLING... (YA/LL DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE NAMES I CALLED THAT GUY EITHER!)
Get to the point. explain and state your case I fell this is wrong because..... not a proper statement This guy is a jerk ! even if they are one!
Once you start slinging mud forget it they do not make you seriously!
DO NOT threaten. WELL I AM NEVER GOIING TO SHOP THERE AGAIN! well gee you are acting like a 2 year old we aer glad you are not going to shop with us go to our competitor let them deal with you!
If you are offered a gift card REFUSE IT!!! this is VERY IMPORTANT AND WILL ADRESS THIS LATER ON.
Be HONEST. example of a lie yes I was in line for 30 minutes well most stores have cameras and tapes can be pulled up if there is an issue corporate calls the district manager who calls the manger and everyone involved and yes tapes are pulled up and if you LIED guess what your name is put on a bad list. Yep You are marked as a complainer who lies t get gift cards!
DO NOT USE YOUR MOTHER BROTHER BEST FRIEND ETC NAME AND ADDRESS AND PRETEND TO BE THEM again see DO NOT LIE
I know a person how made a complaint and used their friends name and some how cooperate found out and they BOTH are now on a bad list yep enjoy that gift card cus guess what you are slowly being cut off. You will notice slowly that your CRT or emailed or snail Mali coupons slowly start to dwindle wonder why well gee do you think they really want you back? cause and effect.................people cause and effect. yes corporate may be all nice and apologize but that is THEIR JOB You MAY THINK YOU HAVE WON but nope!! and once you complain to corporate do you now how many people know what you said? and lord if you compoundered it with a lie? .. you are branded a liar trouble maker just out for a quick buck,,,,,
calling corporate should be a LAST LAST RESORT! Think before you call example my friends daughter got called a thief by a jerk at Old Navy friend that is worth a call to corporate BUT she did try to contact the district manager she called another store to get the district managers number and was told well gee we will email the dm and tell him what happened and if the dm feels it is an issue he will contact you.. STUPID ANSWER ON OLD NAVYS PART and so once he called corporate she told them that too ! not worth a call ..... ALL YOUR STORES ARE OUT OF HERSHEYS KISSES!!
Think before you call!!! and considering I have 4 district managers numbers on speed dial! lol YES I DO I know I am on one of them list too BUT I DO NOT Shop at that one store I was treated so badly at! Yes I have a temper too and I have gone hay wire a time or too I have found once I called down I was better and I did call corporate and said this who I was treated and this si why I will NOT go back and was calm carry me calm? lol


OK so how do you turn it around lets say you had bad PMS and a fight with your best friend and you got that nasty gas bill and well just having a bad day and you go into the store and get ticked and call corporate how do you undo the damage? How do you get off that bad list? and yes ALL STORES HAVE THEM!

SO YOU GO AND COMPLAINE HOW TO UNDO IT? SIMPLE IF YOU WERE IN THE WRONG CALL UP AND ADMIT IT................... SORRY I BLEW IT OUT OF PORPORTION i WAS HAVING A BAD DAY. REGAIN RESPECT!
so you were honest an the manager was is a jerk ok so the manager is a jerk but what about the cashier? was that person nice and friendly? then call and let them know ! It takes about 3 compliments to start to undo the damage done by 1 complaint! but you start to gain creditability back. and you will get off that bad list.!!


NOW FOR ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE GONE INTO A STORE AND HAVE NEVER CALLED IN OR EMAILED A COMPLIMNET MY QUESTION IS WHY? WERE YOU TREATED NICE? DID YOU RECIVE GRET SERVICE? YES IT IS THEIR JOB BUT THERE IS A DIFFERANCE BETWEEN NICE AND AWSOME! I ALWAYS SEND IN A COMPLIMENT WHEN EVER I RECIVE GOOD SERVICE I EVEN SENT A THANKS YOU IN ONE DAY I WS DEPRESSED SAD MISERIBLE SOMETHING TERRIBLE WAS GOING ON AND I HAD TO GO GET SOMETHING AT THE STORE I DID NOT WANT TO BE IN PUBLIC AT ALL BUT HAD TO GO GET TOILET PAPER SO I GO INTO THE STORE AND WOW I THINK GOD SENT ME THERE THE CASHIER WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO FRIENDLY NOTICED I WAS DOWN IN THE DUMPS AND WE STARTED TALKING I LEFT THE STORE FEELING BETTER HARD OT OD ON THE ANNIVASRY OF A LOVED ONES DEATH AND SO WHEN O GOT HOME I PULLED UP THEIR WEB SITE AND SENT A THANK YOU AND I TOLD THEM WHAT ABAD SAD DAY IT WAS FOR ME AND HOW JUST THIE PSEON WAS AWSOME AND MADE ME FEEL BETTER I DID NOT SIGN MY NAME.. After that I decided to email when ever i got awesome service!.
Ok time to go Just wanted to share stuff tonight! I actually had time to site for change and play catch up!
