The stuffed animals, made by British company Creature Toys and manufactured in China, come in a variety of styles and are made out of cotton, according to the release. The eyes, made of plastic buttons, could be hazardous, but no injuries or deaths have yet been reported.
Consumers are advised to take the toy away from children immediately and return it to any Old Navy store for a full refund. If purchased online, contact Old Navy. Consumers who return the toy before July 1 will also receive a $5 coupon toward a future Old Navy purchase.
There are about 35,500 of the toys in the U.S., according to the release.
The style numbers being recalled are 612756 (a brown toy called Stubby Stuberson), 600571 (a pink dove), 600572 (a grey dog), 612800 (a pink toy called Lucy Toothy), 612738 (a white dog named Dr. Poopsie), 612672 ( a brown penguin), 612671 (a light pink rabbit), 612728 (a brown reindeer) and 612806 ( a dark pink rabbit called Honey O'Bunny), according to the release. The style number is located on a white label sewn into the toys' side seams.
