I am new to all of this couponing stuff and having a great time with it. I have a question though. My neighbor says it's not worth using coupons around here because no one doubles. I have called every store I shop at and they don't double at all. So my question is.....Is couponing worth the work when my stores won't double them??

I don't want to waste my time if I'm not going to reap the benefits...kwim?!?!

Thanks!
Hilary

DO YOUR STORES HAVE REGULAR SALES ADS. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE STORES YOU SHOP AT. PERSONALLY I THINK ITS ALWAYS WORTH IT CAUSE A FEW CENTS HERE AND THERE REALLY ADD UP. BUT TO EACH IS OWN. I JUST TOLD A FRIEND THIS TODAY. TRY IT FOR A MONTH OR SO AND ONLY CLIP THE ONES YOU NEED AND WILL USE FOR SURE. WRITE DOWN EVERY COUPON YOU USE AND SEE HOW IT STACKS UP IN SAVINGS AT THE END TIME FRAME. YOU MIGHT SEE THATS ITS WORTH IT OR NOT DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH TIME AND ENERGY YOU DEVOTE TO IT. AGAIN JUST MY OPINION IM NOT TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE.

Like Kristy said, only you can determine what is worth it to you. It depends on how much time you spend to clip and organize, how much your family needs to save and how much you actually do save.

I run into many skeptics but these are mostly people who don't want to spend the time or have listened to everyone else and never tested it for themselves.

Do you have CVS and Walgreens or Rite-Aid? Even if you do not have doubling stores, the customer rewards, rebate and couponing programs at these stores make it worth it. Also, even if you shop at Walmart, they often run loss leader specials that we have coupons for and their prices are generally lower so the savings can really add up. I get lots of free stuff at Walmart.

And manufacturer's rebates and try me free offers can really add up. I save a few hundred dollars a year just in rebates.

Hope this helps!
