No more coupon Trading

We will no longer allow coupon trading on our website. This is due to this being a grey area because on the coupons it states that trading of coupons are not allowed. In march I will be meeting with some major manufacturers . We will be striving to work to make coupons more easier to use and fraud free. I will let you know what more I can say later after our meeting.

We strive to be a FRAUD free website! We want to make sure that everything we do on here is legal. All trading of coupons and reciepts will be prohibited. If you wish to still trade with our members please do so by email.

Ok I understand no buying no copying etc but TRADING??? I trade with others all thetime. If I have something a friend need and she has oe I need we just trade why no trading?

I was wondering the same thing and contacted Bud Miller at the CIC. When I asked him what the fine print at the bottom of the coupon meant when it spoke of 'transfer', he replied (and this is a quote from his email):

"transfer means sold, traded, auctioned or otherwise exchanged outside of the aurthorized distribution channel"

So then I asked:
"So, in other words, if I buy 20 copies of the Sunday paper to obtain coupon inserts, that's legal. But if I trade with other women for coupons I might need, that's illegal??"

I then explained that I was inquiring because I belonged to a couponing website.

To which he replied:
"Unless there is some other activity involved, such as theft or counterfeits, it would most likely fall under a civil violation. ie, a particpant can get sued, but would not go to jail."

"We have never recommended such actions. Of course, web site owners bear responsibility for the activities allowed on their web site."

He also went on to explain that he would probably never recommend pursuing such civil suits but that he has to make us aware of the law.

So because Melissa is the owner of this site and the stuff she has in the works and all the attention this site is getting and may get...she has to mind her ps and qs.

Well with all the counterfeiting going in can;t say as I blame them for tightening the belt !

Bud Miller is a royal pain the butt. he's been around since the 90's that I can recall. He tries to intimidate people into not using coupons at all. At 1 time on another board I belong to he claimed that terrorists trade coupons to support their terrorism. I couldnt help but keep from falling out of my chair laughing.

Terrorists? well I could see that all the indian and muslims that shop CVS and are commiting coupon fraud and then resaleing the stuff I could see that LOL. My friends CC info just got stolen and guess what was chatged on her card? A donation to a muslim charity can you believe that?

So far Buds been pretty nice I have talked to him on the phone alot!

Nooooo....I know what the evil terrorists are doing. They are the BAD people that go to CVS and buy things to get the ECB's and then return the items for cash and then rebuy them again and again! Then they use the ECB's to get stuff free and then sell that stuff!!

My cousin and I refer to these people as COUPON NAZIS, but we can call them terrorists....pretty much the same thing, right?

I haven't gotten bad vibes from Bud Miller at all. When I talked to him, it seemed that since I was being up front and honest, he went the extra mile to let me know what would and wouldn't be prosecuted, etc. I think he probably plays tough guy if he suspects dishonest and unethical actions.

I don't know about terrorists, but I do know there are coupon fraud/scamming rings that we couldn't even dream up that make a killing. (Well, I guess if you have a criminal mind you may be able to, but as for me....I guess I'm naive). If there weren't groups like these, then there wouldn't be all the cases for fraud and counterfeiting that have been prosecuted.
