I don't know if any of you have used freecycle.com, but it is pretty neat. People post items they want to give away and you email them if you want it and go pick it up. I just got 4 BOXES of baby clothes for free. You can also post things you want to get rid of. There are all kinds of things on there. Check it out.

I loved it until recently when someone said he had a "really nice" futon I could have and I drove clear to the other side of the metro only to find out it was rusty and cheaply made.

personally, I don't care for freecycle, at least the Okc one, some people put stipulations on things, when its supposed to be no questions asked, then it seems like things are gone before they even get posted

I like the Del City one better than the OKC one. We have gotten up early on the weekend before to get stuff listed early so they could get it picked up that day and out of our way. The OKC one posted it at 11:00 p.m. that night when we had submitted it at 9:00 a.m. that morning. Sent items to the Del City one the next time and they were posted immediately.

That's true. The OKC one takes forever to post. I like the Edmond one. I'm in NW OKC, so I'm very close to Edmond, so it works out good.

Don't worry I tried to post some stuff on the OKC one and they never appeared. I mean what is wrong with offering floppy disk holders (the ones that hold 200)???? Still never been posted to this date. Hey anyone interested in them??? LOL

I do mainly the Edmond one. I am subscribed to Bethany and OKC and you are right they don't post as fast and they are exceptionally picky

I use the Edmond and Logan CO one. It takes time to get things posted if you are on moderated. and all new members are on moderation for a while until they learn how to post right. Thess 2 have a few rules no yard sale no money post after all is free They even have want less Wednesday when they only allow Offer post. I have been on the Edmond one for a few years now and they got a new moderator that is really cleaning the board up If you ever have any trouble you give them a yell and they take car of it asap. I have used the other ones okc Del city Norman and lord picky picky and a few of the moderators are jerks! not nice at all. I even placed a offer and got a reject from them because I did not put something in right but anyway I got an email from a person about that item come to find out it was the moderator! after all the post never went through and the only one to see it was one of the moderators! so I got disgusted with a few of them and just stick to Edmond and Logan Co I have not had ANY trouble with them The only issue I have had has been with people not showing up to pick things up. but I just love freecycle I get rid of good stuff and have gotten some hard to find items. Try to get a pic of an item that sounds to good to be true. And if you do not know what to do with it recycle it Example we replaced all the windows in our house and I had 16 windows laying around and did not want to go to the dump I put them on freecycle and they were gone with in a day! I have gotten rid of ink for a printer that died. I also got rid of the printer that died! You will be amazed at what people will take! The guy who took my printer repairs them and then you will see him posting the printer all fixed. So you do have some good people out there BUT you do have a few that are greedy But it is fun and I do like it. I have a friends all over and have gotten them hooked on freecycle too. So try it just got to find a group that you like.

I have also used freecycle, and you're right, it takes forever to get anything approved. I find it odd that it's often gone before it's posted too. I put up a posting for alot of things and I was getting slammed with emails,I checked all the groups I had posted to and NONE of my postings had even been listed yet which leads me to believe that the moderators or group owners pick through what they want and then put the posting out for others to respond to. Which in my opinion is not very fair. :?

Actually, on the Edmond site, I haven't found that at all. The people that are responding to my posts are always different...but there are alot of responses if you have good stuff.
