Don't beat yourself up! I've been doing this for a year now and do stuff like that all the time. I either forget to break up transactions or I lose a reciept altogether. And then there are times when you think you have it altogether but the register beeps at you and the manager has to come over and you're holding up the line and then you find out it's because you didn't use your coupons in the right order! UGH! It happens. But then there are ALL the times things go smoothly and work out just the way they are supposed to! Hang in there!

Did you use a coupon for the glucometer? If not, take it back and re-buy it. I've actually done that before. That way you'll have a separate receipt for both items.

yeah i did, i used the $20 off one, which made it free anyways..

but everyone said to try to send in the rebate anyways..

but i dont guess i will..

Actually, one time when I took something back (because they had it on sale for less) to re-buy it, I told the manager I had used a coupon so I shouldn't get the full amount back. He told me "It's ok, we're getting the money from the manufacturer on the coupon, so it all comes out even." They may let you...might be worth a try. At the worst, you still have a free glucometer!
