Yay! finally a real vacation (ok...not so much with 5 kids! LOL) We will be heading for Miami, FL early Saturday morning (so kids will be sleeping...and quiet!). It will be the first time I and our kids have seen the ocean...I am so looking forward to that! I also plan on picking up Sunday newspapers in different states for the coupons :) anyway, please pray for our safety and sanity!LOL

make sure you take plenty of sunlotion, my kids flat out refused to put on any when i took them to the ocean for the first time, i was used to being around an ocean, they weren't, even though i told them over and over to put it on, of course they wouldn't and both of them burnt pretty bad. It happens so fast.

Oh yeah, I will be taking a ton of sunblock! I am so pasty! I am hoping it won't rain all week, we looked at the forecast and it looks like there might be rain on the way there and there is a chance everyday this week for rain in FL.

No offense to anyone, but it does smell in Sulfur, but it is a pretty area :) My favorite part of OK is driving down south of Norman, especially in the Arbuckles :)

It was overcast EVERY day we stayed at the beach in April. BUT...it only sprinkled a couple of times, and was still plenty warm enough to get in the water. And, we still managed to get a little red one day. Even with all the clouds, it was still beautiful. It's so awe-inspiring to go to the edge of this huge continent, and see nothing but water in front of you. Makes you realize how small you really are...and then you look down and realize God knows not only every hair on your head, but every single grain of sand on that beach. Absolutely amazing.

We got back at 3 am this morning :) It was a nice trip, even though it rained almost every day (which is normal for Miami), we managed to squeeze in a visit to Hallendale beach, it was nice and quiet, and beautiful! We on our way home we went to Orlando to The Holy Land Experience, which was awesome. Its not too big of a place, so its perfect for families, and it has plenty of air conditioned areas...my advice is to get there when they open, or you might miss some of the performances. We also made a stop in North Carolina to visit some of hubby's family (we didn't plan on this, but it was an "emergency" of sorts, and it was only 3 hours extra driving) Its an absolutely beautiful state! While the mountains were pretty , the whole winding around, and up and down, was a little annoying after awhile! LOL anyway, We did stop in a Comfort Suites a couple of times, and they are a great hotel if you have a bunch of kids :) They had 2 double beds, and a pullout bed that looked to be a double, all our children fit well, and Hubby and I didn't have to share with a toddler, and no one was stuck on the floor. They were nice and clean too. We will definitely be using them again.
