I've not been on the site in a while....my computer is down at home so I have to borrow one to check up on things here! Shelley had Clark the end of June, and his heart is FINE!! Absolutely no defects or problems. However, his cleft palate is the worst his specialist has seen. Amazingly, he doesn't have to have a feeding tube, he's still able to take a bottle. His first surgery to repair that is October 15th. The doctors have told them he will have 15 surgeries by the time he's 18 years old. Shelley's decided this week not to come back to work. She found a retired RN to keep Clark that she could trust to care for him properly, but she has two other sons that need day care and after school care, and Clark's caregiver was in Yukon, and Shelley lives in the Midwest City/Choctaw area, and works in NE OKC. So, her paycheck would be going for day care and gas to get back and forth. If she doesn't work, the boys qualify for state insurance, and other benefits. They'll also be able to get SSI for Clark, since he has the disability. The family decided it would be better for the boys to be cared for at home, than for mom to be stressed at a job, and having someone else care for them during the day. Thank you all for praying for Shelley and her family. Sorry for the late update.
