I am a SAHM and I really am glad to be, most days...I just had my third child in November. My other two are 2 and 5. Lately, I have been really struggling with being overwhelmed. My dh has a great job but he travels about a week each month and has to work late a few days a week. I have come to the place where I don't get any "me" time. When my younger 2 are napping I am busy playing catch up. I feel as though I really don't have time to spend in the Word or alone with God and when I try it gets interupted. I have been feeling physically ill because I am so stressed out. My kids have been acting out and that has made it even harder. My husband doesn't really understand because he isn't really home with them like me. I need some guidance on what to do and also to find some time for just me.

Thanks so much!

Maralee,

I have been there too. You are not alone. I have 3 girls they are now 11 and 10yrs old twins(the girls are only 16 mo apart) but I do remember when they were all babies and the no me time. It is so hard and you do desrve the time. Do you have any family or friends that could watch your kids for even 2 hours a week so you could go somewhere you want to or even just take a bath without interuption?
I wish you the best of luck and will keep you in my prayers.

*HUGS*
Jennifer

Maralee I know you feel because hubby and I switched roles and now I feel like I have to do everything because he is sick. I hate to see it but I have made my self sick playing catch up too.

I finally had to just forget about my house being spotless. I knew the devil was working on me.

Just stay focused and do the best that you can. Try to not let your house bother you too much :)

Maralee,
I know that it seems as though there is no one in the world that knows how you feel right now.
TRUST ME, I DO!
After my second son was born, I went through some mild depression because it was sooo much for me.
I have been a stay at home mom since he was born and still even though he will be 5 in July , some days I feel totally overwhelmed.
The one thing I can say , is , IF , you have family close by that you TRUST!!!!, that's a biggy these days, CALL THEM!!!
DO NO BE ASHAMED TO ASK FOR A LITTLE HELP.I did not want anyone to think that I was crazy , or loosing it... so I never ever asked for help... and listen, my dad and step mother lived like 5 houses down from me,,, rediculous...
DON'T DO THAT.... CALL SOMEONE,, A FRIEND, A FAMILY MEMBER, SOMEBODY,, EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT THE KIDS TO GO WITH THEM, ASK THEM TO COME OVER FOR A WHILE AND LET YOU JUST GO TO BED... TELL THEM YOU WILL FEED THEM OR SOMETHING,, OR IF YOU HAVE A COUPLE OF EXTRA BUCKS IT IS SOOO WORTH GETTING THE HELP AND THE TIME YOU NEED TO GET YOURSELF TOGETHER.
I WOULD SAY YOU NEED THIS AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK FOR AT LEAST 3-4 HOURS. AND I AM NOT KIDDING.
WITH YOUR HUSBAND AWAY AND ALL YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR, DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT AND THINK YOU DON'T DESERVE IT. YOU DO!!!!

I will be praying for you . Trust me girlfriend when I say , I have been there, and done that.

send a message anytime.

i am going to get some scriptures for you and get back to you on this one.

Keeping you in my prayers.

I understand where u are coming from. i have a 7yr boy 4 yr old girl, a 2 yr old girl and one due in about 8 weeks. U definitly need to take time for yourself even if it is going to the store without them and just kinda roaming around and never even getting anything. My mom works full time and my dad usually is working out of town i have brothers and a sister but they all have kids and a busy schedule theirselves, so i know it sounds silly roaming around the store. but trust me it helps get you out and give u time to think and get your mind back together. if you would like to talk pm me ANYTIME!

While you are on a bathroom break, tell God your situation and ask him to make a way or you to have some quiet time.

Thank him for it and REALLY BElIEVE that God is going to give it to you.

IF your desire is to have time to study his word for renewal and refreshment then God will make a way.

Try eating more fresh fruits and vegetables though out the day as well.

Be blessed and look for God to give you rest.

Hang in there.. You are in a hard season of life and it will pass, and before long your kiddos will be grown up and able to do more on their own. I have my 13, 16 and almost 3 yo, and boy it is tough with the younger one, and then it becomes a different hard when they become teens. Anyways, hang in there! Will pray for you and all the moms out there! Some say SAHM is so easy, however, sometimes I just wish I had a full time job outside of the home. Everything has its rewards wether you stay at home or work outside of the home, they all have their good qualities as the bad.
