I feel like I have been on the edge of things financially. I just recently bought a car (no choice...my other car died on me...) and payments are going to be high. My car insurance is going up, and gas as well. Well, I just had a massive amount of money stolen from me. (nearly $700) I'm in a panic, as you might imagine. That money was my safety net. I was going to use it to get my car tag. Now I'm going to have to dip into my tax stimulus check just to pay that. And even that won't cover all of it.

I've already had health problems as a result of stress. I can't take days off work because I don't get paid sick leave, you know? And I can barely afford to buy food now, with the price of gas and everything. I don't even want to think about Christmas.

So if you all can just pray for me in that regard, I would appreciate it.

I'm sorry to hear this but, belive it or not, many of us are in dire situations such as yourself. Unfortunately! Aghh!
I am praying for your family as well and hope everything works out for you soon. We also had to dip into our stimulus check. Not so much fun considering schools about to start and I have to purchase uniforms for my daughter and then we 3 of our 4 kids are having birthdays at the end of the month (July 25th, July 27th, and August 4th)! What do we do?

I have to agree, it's been a rough year for everyone that i know..as much as i save in coupons i don't see the savings in my bank account, it just seems to offset the higher prices of everything. It does help. Things will get better, it has to, at one point, we just have to get thru the rough times.

I will be praying too. I have come through difficult times with God's help. Just remember that none of these financial things matter when we die. We do what we can with what we have, and leave the rest in God's hands. I get stressed because of money a lot, but I remind myself that if God cares for the birds and the animals and provides their needs, then He will definitely provide for our needs also.

I know when things seem so "yuck" it's hard to see the good. Just remember that He does love you and he will provide for you. The Bible tells us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us, believe and trust that He will get you through these tough times. Try not to worry about Christmas yet it's still a ways away. Be prayful and aware of the ways God gets you through this. He amazes me every day! We've been a couple of weeks w/o a paycheck again and no savings to fall back on but there is still food on the table ( it may not always be the kiddos fav) and much more than I feel like I deserve. So I'm taking my own advise :) Just know that we all are either there or have been there and if we ban together and lift eachother up in prayer all will be well. Be strong and courageous!

I understand exactely where you are! We were there a few months ago. Had my baby 6 weeks early, engine blew in my car (still owe more than it is worth---but it is AWSOME on gas so buying another one makes no sense!!) the day after I got out of the hospital and the baby was in the NICU. I had to come back to work right away since I only had 6 days of vacation and had already used a few. Hubby was not making $$ since he was working in OKemah. We borrowed friends cars until one decided to loan us the $1,000 to fix mine. Hubby is back home now and work is scarce for him but he is constantly working (for different people) in different places. There was a time when he did not work for 7 weeks. We will not get a stimulus check at all so we do not have that to fall back on! BUt we are making it and I was able to spend $48 the other day to buy my two kids new leather sneakers and socks and not think Oh My Gosh now we cannot do ___________. It is hard but eventually things will work out right if you have faith!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their prayers. I have felt the hand of God so much the last few days, and I know that He will bring me through this.

Well, I wish I had some good news. Unfortunately, it isn't good news. Tonight when I got home, I found strange mud footprints in my house. When I went to investigate further, I found that the window to my bathroom was wide open. So I think this is how my money disappeared. I have noticed things amiss the last few days, but I chalked it up to paranoia.

But the good news is: I locked each and every one of the windows in my apartment. So now he won't be able to get in at all. Also, my computer and other valuables (jewelry, etc) were left intact. Just my cash was missing.

So, I guess the money's gone now. :-(

Bless your heart! Do you know this person? I wouldn't have been as brave. I will continue to pray for your protection and provision.

Let's just say I have my suspicions on who it is. I have a new upstairs neighbor who has a friend stay over a lot. I think it may be the friend. But I have no proof of this.

I called the police. They said that since nothing turned up missing tonight, there was nothing they could do. I told them about the missing money, and they were like, "And you're just now telling us?" Grrrr. I thought I had just misplaced it at first. I wasn't going to file a police report over me misplacing some money. But now that there is EVIDENCE that someone's breaking in, yes, I am reporting it.

Meanwhile, I am locking all my windows, doors, etc. I'm not going to lose anything else. I can't afford that.

I always get so mad when i see things like that happen or when it happens to me. Had someone break into my car twice a few years ago, first time they tried to steal my cd player (which didn't even work except the radio part) but of course in the process they jammed my electric window which cost more to fix than the cd player was worth. And they were dumb enough to spend the time to take the wirenuts of each wire in the back of the stereo, instead of just pulling the entire plug out..guess they got interrupted and left it laying in the passenger seat.
Next time they ended up with the broken cd player but at least they didn't mess up my window again.
Wasn't even the stereo i was upset about, i was a single working mother trying to make it and here come some idiots thinking they can just take whatever they want that i work hard for everyday...i have no compassion for people like that.
Sorry this happened to you, i think chances are slim that you get your money back but keep your head up.

They sell some inexpensive window and door alarms at home depot. You could always spend the $10 and trust me they are loud and if the window is open they will go off. That way in case you forget to lock a window again you won't have this problem.

People like this make me ill! It's like, they do this to people that can LEAST afford to replace this stuff. It's horrible and sad. Hanging's too good for them.

Well, I left this morning with all my windows locked. Came back this afternoon and everything was fine. Praise God!!
