I emailed Giant Foods and asked them for the coupon policy for the store I go to. Here is the response I got. Thoughts would be great!

Dear Maralee Seeley

Thank you for contacting us regarding your request about our coupon policies. We do appreciate your comments and feedback. Our coupon policies are as follows: Only one coupon up to $1.00 for the same item will be doubled or tripled, all other will be redeemed at face value. (Example 12 cans of Hi-C punch, 1 coupon will be doubled, 11 will be redeemed at face value). Only one like coupon will be doubled. We do accept internet coupons that are not over $5.00 or for anything free. Again, thank you for contacting us. We value your business and look forward to continuing to serve your shopping needs.

Sounds like they will take $5 or more or free item internet printables acording to the wording of the letter, I am sure she meant they will only take IP coupons under the amount of $5 and not free coupons? That is just my interpertation!

Hey everyone... I also emailed them requesting the coupon policy for the Giant in my area and this is the response I received.... I think it is important that people know not all Giants have the same coupon policy, you should def. check with the one in your area before going. Hope this is helpful to anyone who needs it. It is the Giant in Sinking Springs, PA

Dear Mrs. shannon boozer

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. I appreciate that you took the time to give us your feedback.

COUPON POLICY: The customer must purchase the item to which the coupon applies. Coupons must not be expired. A store coupon and a vendor coupon may be redeemed on the same item. If the combined value of the vendor coupon exceeds the items retail price, the item is free. The vendor (manufacturers) coupon will be deducted first then the store coupon will be adjusted so that it does not exceed the price of the item. Coupon can be redeemed on damaged or discontinued merchandise that has been reduced. We do not accept coupons from competitors, altered or tampered (i.e. expiration date cut off) or Xerox copied coupons. The value of the coupon may not exceed the price of the item.

DOUBLE COUPON POLICY: In order for a coupon to be doubled, the Customer must use their Bonus Card. The Double Coupon Policy does not apply to FREE coupons, Catalina coupons, store coupons or any competitors coupons. The total doubled value can not exceed the price of the item. Only one coupon for the same item will be doubled, all other will be redeemed at face value. (Example: 12 cans of Hi-C punch, 1 coupon will be doubled, 11 will be redeemed at face value) Only one like coupon will be doubled. (.50 cent stores) All coupons with a face value up to and including .50 cents will be doubled. Example: A .50 cent coupon will be doubled to $1. All coupons with a face value from .51 cents to .99 cents will be altered to $1.

INTERNET COUPONS

Same policy as our Coupon Policy applies. We do accept internet coupons with the following exceptions: Coupon value can not exceed $5. and No FREE item coupons.

Thanks so much Shannon! I know that we have 4 local Giants and only 2 of them double dollar coupons. It is a great idea to email about your store's coupon policy so you have a copy and know for sure.

That is awesome that some double $1.00 coupons, I wish ours did. I actually called all four that were within an hour from my home and none of them do. bummer... but i think that is just my area. Most of our stores around here are not chain stores, they are privately owned, and none of them double coupons, so I guess the big stores like Giant feel like they are doing enough just by doubling small values. Thanks for everything though... you have been a huge help.

The Giants that are right by me don't do it because we are such a small town. I have to go to the one that is 30 minutes away. Don't stop couponing! I know this will help you! I will help you in any way I can!
