Hey everyone!
I was just curious if anyone had some good casserole recipes. I'm always needing something to take somewhere (dinners, church events, etc) and am looking for something new & good.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
Steph

A friend once told me the basic recipe for a casserole is this:

meat (chicken, ground beef, etc)
liquid (soup, milk, etc)
starch (potatoes, rice, pasta)
cheese for the top

I know it sounds rediculous, but pick something from each category, add a little seasoning, and you've got yourself a casserole! LOL

I know you were looking for specific recipes. Hmm...let's see. The one I do most is a breakfast casserole.

10-12 slices of bread broken up
10 eggs
2-3 cups milk
1 lb sausage browned
cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Put bread pieces in greased 9x13 pan. Top with sausage and cheese. Mix eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over the top of bread, cheese and sausage. Cover pan with plastic wrap and chill overnight in frig. Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes.

You can make the same recipe the Queen just posted but add Tuna instead....then top with bread crumbs and bake until golden, then add cheese and bake five more minutes to melt.

Not really a casserole, but more like "cheater chicken parmesan":

Cook egg noodles and drain. Stir jar of Ragu into noodles, with extra garlic and Italian seasoning. Add a little parmesan cheese. Pour egg noodles into casserole dish, place frozen breaded chicken (patties, strips, chunks, whatever) on top. Cover with foil and bake according to chicken directions. Uncover, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and place back in the oven to melt.

I love "cheater" meals! ....using frozen/premade ingredients to make FABULOUS dishes! LOL :P

I did the 2nd one amiee posted the other night and I added the chicago style weber seasoning and it was great. The kids wanted peas in it and they loved. I think it would have been even better with corn though!
