I am wanting to start scrap booking soon and have 0 supplies (except pictures lol). My aunt in MO routinely spends $100 or more on supplies at Hobby Lobby and I cant come close to that, do you ladies have any frugal tips for a newbie? :D

If you can find a Creative Memories distributor or someone in your area that does crops....they will have tools that you can use when you go so you aren't having to purchase them all at once in the beginning. That way you can purchase them a little at a time. Hobby Lobby usually has some of their scrapbooking stuff on sale every week. Just buy a little at a time. I need to go through my stuff and sort out what I don't use anymore and I know lots of people who do that and give their stuff away at crops. If you watch the clearance aisles you can pick up albums (although I do like to spend a little more on mine and get Creative Memories cuz they are the best quality) or you can use the 40% coupon at Michael's to get albums. Hope this helps some....I LOVE to scrapbook!!!

http://www.pagesintime.com is a very inexpensive site to go to or you can check the Mommy depot (ad on main page http://www.consumerqueen.com). I have a Secret Sister on babycenter.com and I have been getting her scrapbooking stuff very reasonably priced from the Mommy Depot. It is actually ran by Melissa and her mom. So you are helping out people form this board by ordering from there also.

I myself have never scrapbooked a day in my life and I am not sure where to begin but I am sure I will start one for this baby! I will probably buy the beginning album at Mommy Depot when they have it again!

HEY!! I love scrapbooking too! If you get the Sunday paper usually there are 40-50% off coupons every week for Hobby Lobby and Michael's. I also signed up for Hobby Lobby's email club(or whatever it's called :P ) and they send the same coupon in the newspaper to my inbox.

Thank you all for the info! I can not wait to get started. I just ordered prints from an online site so I hope to get at least a book and some paper by the time they get here! Are any of you ladies in a scrapbooking club or know of one in the MWC area?

Karen, congrats on the baby! We just had a baby shower for a friend I met at CVS when we bothed noticed each others list from the coupon game. We all gave a gift but everyone also included baby coupons in with the card, she left with over 100 coupons for baby stuff :D
