Soapbox time -

It's terrible how much time and resources CNN allocated to the Memorial for Michael Jackson ... I understand the guy was an Icon, but last time I checked he never served our country in war time ... now that's who we should be celebrating ... the lives of those who died for our country, true American Icons. I'm glad I'm smart enough to watch FOX news.

Regards,
Fat Tony

I agree. He has passed away and my prayers are with his family and friends, however, do we not have people still stationed overseas fighting for our country? Was there not a possible serial killer in South Carolina? Come on Michael jackson sang and danced. He did not find the cure for Cancer or defeat AIDS. Let him Rest in Peace and allow his family some privacy without the video cameras in their faces.

Well i kind of agree and disagree..
I for one was glad that they did cover his memorial etc, it gave me a chance to be part of it without being there. Do they overdo it...yes.
He is also in the guiness book of world records for being a celebrity that supported more charities and donated more than any others. I think a lot of the new Celebrities should take that as an example.
There are a lot of people we should honor everyday, i spent one day honoring the legacy of a man that has changed music, just as elvis fans did way back then.

While I totally agree with what you've said, I only wish more time was spent covering/honoring those who defend the freedom you and I have to watch and enjoy those such Michael Jackson. That's clearly not what's important to those at CNN.

Sincerly,

Okay, im just going to say this in the most polite and nice way that I can...

Didnt he have alligations on him with sleeping with children. I admit that I enjoy listening to his music, and he was very talented. And yes, he may have done alot for charities. But there seems to be alot of other things that are getting pushed under the rug so to speak. I feel for his family and friends, and mostly for his children who are probably most hurt by his sudden death. And I would never wish this to happen to anyone, but I just feel that two months ago we all thought he was crazy and weird and noone really believed he was innocent of the things the tried to prove he did. And yes, he was never found quilty, but money can get you a long way in this world with the right amount. It just bothers me that one day we can all sit and say that a man is different and that we wouldnt trust him to be around our children, and then the next he suddenly passes away and we a just devistated. My prayers go to his family and anyone who was close to him that will be truely affected by this but I have to admit it just all makes me a little sick....
