OK the water finally went down and we were able to get back to the house with Daniel's dad. There is nasty red mud all over everything. We will have to replace the carpet, all the flooring, sheet rock etc. We don't know if the big screen TV works as we have to let it dry out. I think our furniture is probably ruined. We had just got a brand new Lazy Boy Recliner and New Ashley Sectional. I'm sure the xbox,Wii,blue ray player and surround sound are all toast. We had just bought my mom a brand new mattress at Mathis Brothers and that has been destroyed as well as Ryans mattress and bed and our King Size Bed.Things like clothes, video camera, dogs toys&bed, lawnmower, weed eater etc all gone. On a positive note we had some stuff in rubbermaid containers that had the lids off and they were BONE DRY they must have just floated? The wood on the kitchen table and piano are all messed up and nasty. Water got into our pantry and food is all ruined. Our brand new Fridgidaire Refrigerator is TOAST! We don't know about the stove and dishwasher yet. Not sure about the freezer in the garage yet. Everything happened so fast and I really haven't taken it all in. We probably won't be able to see the real damage until it's light outside again.

Daniel had to help a girl get out of her car that floated into our front yard, within minutes it had rose over her car windows. He got her out just in time. The neighbor was home alone with her 2yr old so Daniel carried him across the water while she grabbed him some clothes. It was crazy but neighbors were pulling out blankets and towels to pass around as everyone was cold from all the water. Fireman were rescuing people and their pets left and right.

All in all we are all safe but it may be months before we can move back in. The Lord is good and he has kept me at peace. I know he will take care of us.

We are going to have to replace all the flooring, all the doors, all the vanities in 3 bathrooms, whirlpool tub, kitchen cabinets, all furniture, appliances, beds you name it.

Thankful that you are safe. The cleanup will be a difficult and trying thing to do. Praying for you and your family as you venture back home.

What a terrible thing to happen to all of you and your neighbors. But like you said, God is good. I am thankful you all are safe. As you are well aware material things can be replaced. Thank you for the update on the flooding.
