April is Earth month and I have been learning a lot of different ways to be a little more earth friendly in our home. We are trying to use Dish Towels instead of paper towels(except for what's left over from my stockpile)

I am also trying to use more rechargeable batteries instead of regular batteries(we do still have some regular batteries left in our stockpile but they are horrible to dispose of! )

We have also talked about helping companies go green by paying attention and supporting those that do. I love the new   Clorox Green Works products. The wipes are great for my kids. They can use them to clean their own bathroom and I don't have to worry about what chemicals they are getting on their hands.

In Honor of Earth Month we are going to give 1 lucky reader a chance to win "The Ultimate Earth Month Prize Pack! " Courtesy of Walmart and the mentioned sponsors below! Other Walmart 11 Moms are also giving away their own pack.

Prize Pack Includes(Est.Value $130):

  • Clorox Green Work

  • Tide Cold Water

  • White Cloud TP & Paper Towels

  • Brita Pitchur

  • Bissel Little Green Machine

Be sure and listen to our Earth Month Show on Blog Talk Thursday night 8pm CST ! ( we will be giving away 1 case of White Cloud Gree TP and 1 case of White Cloud paper towels on our show!)

I am celebrating Earth month by going more green, recycling more, planing a garden, using recycling shopping totes, and no more buying paper plates and cups and I am using more green Earth friendly products.

I am composting. Switching out all my light bulbs, and trying not to use papertowels whenever possible.

As it’s getting nicer, we’re actually able to shut down our house at night. Since our smoke detectors at battery backup, we just shut the entire house down when we go to bed (except the fridge and freezer, of course). I figure we’re doing our part to make up for the fact that we both drive trucks!

I forgot to say what I’m doing to celebrate Earth Month. I’m teaching my kids to take better care of our resources. We recycle, we’re starting a garden…basically, we’re becoming more aware of our lifestyle.

I’m an email subscriber.
I have banished plastic bags from my home! I have spent the last few months gathering up a stash of totes so I never have to use another plastic bag! Yeah!! ( I love my totes!)I’m also using green cleaning products. Since I have COPD my poor lungs are much happier without the harsh chemicals in the air!
