The best tip I ever got from my MIL years ago was Christmas shop for NEXT YEAR as soon as the current is over. I start buying a few gifts a month after Christmas is over. It really has a huge impact on #1 over spending #2 your budget and #3 using credit cards!

Before I checkout with an online purchase, I ALWAYS do a quick search to see if I can find any coupon codes that would apply to my purchase. I’ve saved a lot of money this way.

To save money at Christmas I buy clearance/free items throughout the year and store them in a special place. I keep a list of what i have and who it’s for and also another list of extra stuff that could make nice gifts for random people on my list. Then, I donate any extra items to charity!
