I hate trying to get the kids to try on new clothes that they don’t like. Money is tight! So we always have to go places that the kids might not find cool – It would be great to actually have them excited to go for once!
What I hate most about back to school shopping is spending money on stuff I wouldn’t otherwise buy!!!
Thanks for the fantastic contest!

The thing I hate the most about school shopping is how much money I have to spend at one time. There is school clothes, plus the whole list of supplies that have to be bought right at the same time. $500 would really take the edge off!

What I hate most is when there is a “One Day Sale” like at Old Navy and you get up early and go there and still there isnt anything left in the size your kids wear!
Here is a tip: buy the wrong size anyway and then later in the week take them back and exchange them for the right size.

I hate that school specify the brands and colors of things you can buy. Who cares what name is on the glue or crayons. If my child has a blue folder and the others have red at least he has a folder! I would also like them to split the lisst up. What on earth do they do with the 50 boxes of tissues ont he first day of school.

I despise back to school shopping for several reasons. It seems that the things I am looking for are not always in stock so I have to make several trips to different stores. I got lucky this year and found all of their school supplies in one place. It cost me close to $170.00 to get all the things on the both kids school supply list. Is it me or are their supply list double what they were last year? Now I’m not sure if we can afford to buy all their clothes for school until next month.. They will start out in their clothes from last year
.
I have commented about this on my facebook…
What I hate most about back to school shopping is knowing there are so many children out there who cannot afford school supplies! It makes me thankful that I can buy them for my family!

I can not only pick 1 thing I hate about back to school shopping…with my 5 year old who is ADHD taking him to the stores for him to try on clothes (with his sisters doing the same thing) and trying to budget $$ for clothes and school supplies for a 5yo boy, a 10yo girl, and a 13yo girl is CRAZY and add the crowds/not being able to find everything on top is enough to make any parent nuts…
I hate buying new clothing for my 8 year old because she is so picky and because she doesn’t really need extra clothes just because school is starting!i am always ona budget and also don’t appreciate teachers who send lists at home for supplies with brand names….maybe they have their reasons but I think most of the glues are the same….

What I hate about school shopping time is the fact that you have to spend so much money on supplies, clothes, etc. Then, as soon as school starts, you have to spend more money on pictures, sports, etc.
I hate trying to make my way down the crowded aisles with five kids who are all trying to tell me what they want. It is chaos and I always miss out on getting that last item because I am trying to talk to one of the “chatty” children.

What I hate most is school uniforms. Someone out here in Louisiana decided that all our kids should wear uniforms for school. So I have only 3 stores in the entire area that sell the required uniforms & of course, they are ridiculously expensive.
Standard back to school costs for 3 uniforms is almost $200.
And I can always count on having to buy longer pants half-way through the school year, ’cause kids grow like weeds!
Then I still have the lists from each and every teacher in the school who all want my kid to have the specific folders or pencils, or – so help me – baby wipes (even in High School).
And don’t let me forget that our kids must have clear or Mesh backpacks – you have to be able to see through them. Of course, they fall apart so easily, I can count on at least 3 of those through the school year.
You know, it didn’t cost my parents near as much & I received a better education than my kids do now. What’s Up with that?
Thanks for the contest! That could really make a difference for us. Too bad WalMart isn’t one of the places to get Uniforms!

What I hate most is that first you need to help your kids clean out their closets. Oh, the decisions-What to keep, what to discard. Kids take forever to decide. Then the list of what they need. Finally, the actual shopping. Teens can look at themselves in one outfit in front of a mirror for hours trying to decide, should I get it? No? Enough said. You get the picture.

The worst, the fight that I always ended up having with my daughter. I want a few basics, like pants and skirts in neutral colors and then add 4-5 tops for each and accessories for each so that we can make many outfits out of a few basics. Saves money. Daughter always wants the complete opposite. She wants funky clothes, that match nothing and make 1 outfit. We usually find a compromise.

I hate having to spend so much money on new clothes!
I hate the crowds in the one aisle of jumbled school supplies. You can’t get a cart in there and you can’t hold it all in your two hands. It is just impossible.
I despise the long lines. Also, as happy as I am about tax-free shopping, the deals before and after the tax-free days are better. I hate seeing everyone run out and spend to save a mere 7-8%.
As a kid, I used to love back to school shopping. My mother (who didn’t drive) would call a cab and we would go shopping downtown. Buy new clothes, school supplies (a tablet, a carton of crayons and two number 2 pencils, those were the days).
Back to school isn’t the big transition that it used to be. It should be, I work for a university).
There’s no big thrill in shopping for new clothes and school supplies, and at work the Business Office just came out with another complicated directive on how we have to get them.
I hate the fact that prices are going up and package sizes are shrinking.
I hate searching for school supplies and everything I need the store is out of. So I hit like 5 stores a day looking for 1 box of crayola washable markers, box of colored pencils or a special kind of calculator
I hate fighting the crowds for that last folder with brads AND pockets and running all around town looking for that 3″ binder that is required. No one has 3″ binders. It’s crazy!

I hate going to diffrent stores trying to get the best deal.

The crowds. Plus when you think you are done the teachers give you a new list of colored folders they need. Seriously if my kid has a red folder and you wanted a yellow is he not going to learn?
I really hate bringing the kids to the stores for back to school shopping to try on clothing and shoes. They always whine and fight. I got to the point, where now I bring each one on their own. But that’s a pain because now I need to keep going back to the stores with each child.

What I hate most aboout back to school shopping is the fact that the lists of school supplies seems to grow worse every year and it seems so does the economy. Last year we spent a small fortune on school supplies and that was one the absolute necessities on their school supply lists! I do not know how some families do it. The past two years the kids have gotten very few school clothes, like new shoes, socks & undies, because that’s all we could afford after buying supplies. It can be quite frustrating!

Actually, I’m shopping for my first school-age child to go to Kindergarten and that’s been pretty exciting! The only thing I’ve hated about it is not buying something and seeing it on sale somewhere else the very next week. I’d love to know I’m getting good deals all at once, in one place!

What I hate is getting supplies and finding them at a different store for much less *or* finding out once school starts that you don’t need them or got the wrong ones.
The most difficult thing for me is that I have two teenagers. It’s difficult finding something I think is appropriate that they also like. Much easier when I just picked out their clothes!! Thanks so much!

Spending the money it takes to go back to school! That just plain sucks when money is tight.
Back To School Shopping::
we go through this every year!
i want to help my daughter look great and feel great about herself.
She want’s the namebrand–my wallet says otherwise.
So yes. I could definately do without the teenage stores and teenage hormones that make these shopping trips oh, so pleasant.
=]
The great thing about cats is that there are no extra back to school supplies – maybe just a treat or two.
Taking all the boys clothes shopping!
The part I hate is the exhaustion of both body and bank account at the end of the day. Thank you for the offer!
The thing I hate most about “Back to School” shopping is how crowded the stores are during the weeks leading up to school starting again. Sometimes I find the stores to be too crowded around “Back to School” time for my liking and I try to avoid shopping at some of the stores during “Back to School” time instead getting any school supplies I might need at other times of the year.
The one thing I hate the most about school shopping is how much money I have to spend on the kids. They always want the newest things.
What I hate the most is that I am next to the oldest one there and have no clue what to wear. I wear my own style and sometimes get compliments and other times I hear add a scarf . But zI couple use some walmart bucks to get some extra supplies. Thanks so much.
I hate fighting with the kids to try on the clothes before we buy them. Half the time I end up having to take back clothes and exchange for bigger. It’s such a pain. But thank God for school. Some mom time I need.

what i hate about this time of year is everything has to be bought at one time and when you have several children it adds up, you cant buy for one and not the others.Yikes!
I hate the crowds. I do more and more shopping online
I hate that every year things get more expensive and my salary does not go up to match.
Probably not having enough money to do it the way I’d like.
It takes so long to get everything if you try to get it on sale because everything is not on sale the same week.
My oldest is at the age where he only wants name-brand clothing and shoes. It tends to turn into a big scene when we go school shopping and I pull into Walmart. If it doesn’t cost a fortune, he doesn’t want it!
I hate the crowds and how the supply list grows every year.
Our schools don’t provide supply lists until after the kids go back to school so by the time I go out, many of the items are already gone.
I hate the crowds of rude, pushy people. And items being out of stock.
We hate the strain on the budget!
What I hate about back-to-school shopping is the fact that we’re on a very tight budget and we’ve had some unexpected home repairs to pay for. The kids need school supplies and clothing, and we’re stressed out about how we’re going to pay for it all. The Walmart gift card would be a HUGE blessing!

I don’t hate school starting, I just hate summer ending with all the things we said we’d do still left undone.
it cost so darn much.
I once made the mistake of going to Walmart the evening after the first day of public school…and I needed a small notebook. The crowds were unbelievable. I don’t mind shopping when there’s not a lot of people around, but crowded stores are the worst.

What do I hate most? my girls hate shopping, so it’s SO hard to get them clothes and supplies.
All the cool new school supplies- nothing beats the smell of fresh paper or unsharpened pencils!
The thing that I hate most about back to school shopping is that my sons won’t go. I have to buy a ton of clothes and bring them home. Then they look at them and tell me what the like and (mostly) what they don’t. Then I have to return almost everything I bought and try again. At least the jeans are easy. They only where one style of one brand so I just have to get the right size.
Spending the $ is the worst and then having to divide it 3 ways.
My kidlets are sooo picky about the clothes they want!
It seems I have to go to a million stores to get the best back to school deals. So the driving around and fighting the other people to get the real steals gets annoying.
I absolutely hate crowds, so that has to be the biggest gripe for back to school shopping.
Shopping for clothes! They always want what isn’t in the budget!
I hate the big crowds and whining kids and the inevitability of forgetting something and having to run back last minute!
I hate that you cannot usually get all the supplies in one store, plus they spread out the “sale” items, and then usually don’t have enough of them to service all the shoppers!
My daughter is in college so the thing I hate most is buying the expensive books
I am a subscriber to your blog
I hate getting them all new shoes, cleats and jeans. It’s so expensive!
It never gets any easier to have to lay out so much money at once! We usually are able to reuse some of the school supplies from the previous school year, but clothes are usually a must!
Hate that demand seems to far outweigh supply for some things.
Thanks!

The worst thing is spending all that money.
new to this web site-enjoyed the sunday circular section. Have added you to my favorites- thanks what I hate most about back to school shopping–taking 4 kids with me to the stores!!
I hate the cost. With teenage girls, I cant get away with buying them generic, or inexpensive clothes. They have to have the top name brands.
I hate shoe shopping! Sneakers are so expensive! And when I have to buy them for everyone in the family, I always end up dropping hundreds of dollars in one trip, it’s so depressing!

The back to school list is long and for some reason we have to buy the entire thing all at once, at the beginning of the year, when we have to buy so much – clothing, shoes and register for school. Every year I feel bad for my parents and all the money they put out for me every August!
I hate it when stores are out of very basic items and you have to drive to 3 different stores to find the elusive pencil box!
I am a happy subscriber- thanks!
Well, we homeschool, so I guess the thing I hate most about “Back to School” is that we have to buy all of our textbooks and workbooks; costs a fortune! Thanks for the great contest!
The thing I hate most is the crowds.
So many sales makes it crazy.
I hate that back to school shopping costs so much now. Those lists of rrequired supplies just get longer and longer.
The clothes shopping. I don’t like what they want and they don’t like what I want.
My girls aren’t in school yet, but when I take my nieces school shopping, I hate clothes with glitter. It gets everywhere and I find more all year round!

I like the fresh new notebook paper — it’s like a fresh start every year! I love all the office supply “stuff” — it’s so cute these days!
I think that anyone who complains about their kids should think about some of us who weren’t lucky enough to have any. It’s a terrific contest and I hope I win. I know many children who live around me who don’t get gifts because of lack of money and/or not very smart parents. Anyhow, good luck to all.
Fighting the crowds because we rarely shop before open house since the supply lists online are rarely what the teacher actually requires. We’ve also spent many years going to multiple stores to find very specific items everyone is sold out of (for ex, blue, three-prong, reinforced pocket folders or mini marble composition books). It can be more than a little frustrating at times.
I think I hate the amount of money everything costs the most.

What bothers me the most is when a store doesn’t have the advertised item in their store. Especially when you make a special trip to get a bargain and they are completely out of stock. Who really wants a ‘raincheck’? Not me!

What I dislike is that the kids always want stuff that isn’t on the list. They always feel that the extra “stuff” is something they just gotta have and that all the other kids will have it! I tell them to save their money, then they can buy it themselves. That doesn’t always go down so well, but I think they’re beginning to see the big picture!

I hate the lists and the lines of back to school shopping!
I actually don’t like two things about back to school shopping: The cost, because it really does add up, and I always have to shop different stores as the major chains are always out of something on the supply list or size of clothing.
Actually I don’t mind back to school shopping, I just dread that money is so tight this year, that I’m not going to be able to buy any “new” clothes for my kids… I’m trying to make it “Cool” by recycling school supplies (pencil box, backpack etc) from last year.
I hate the price of clothing today, I want the kids to like the clothes we buy but ahhh! the expense!
I hate trying on jeans for the new school year… it’s always such a production!
Awesome contest!! What I hate the most is getting home after a long day and always finding that one thing that is broken or missing something or just don’t fit!

Too many items look good but are poorly made and fall apart in a month or so

I dislike having to get back into that back to school mode. I am a former elementary school teacher, and trying to get your brain back into the learning mode is not just a challenge for the kids, teachers have trouble switching gears as well. Trying on clothes over and over
I hate the fact that by the time I manage to get the money together to go shopping in the first place, most of the stuff my child needs is sold out!
I hate crowds, I get too confused. So, I shop online.
I hate the crowds. We have one tax free shopping day in this State right before the start of the school year. The sales are too good to miss in conjunction with being tax free, but the crowds are a nightmare – really bad.
I really dislike it when the teachers give specific name brands, especially when those name brands can’t be found in our town!
I hate to have to “make” my kids go shopping for school clothes.
Kids keep wanting new things even when they have the same old thing that is usable!! That is the most annoying thing about back to school shopping. :/
What I hate about back to school shopping is that my 8 year old daughter sees so many outfits that she would love to have that are fairly inexpensive but we just can’t afford to buy anything. Most of her clothes are hand me downs from friends. All of our money goes to bills! I can’t think of a time that I was ever able to take her shopping for new clothes unless she got a gift card for her birthday or we buy things on clearance at walmart for cheap, even then it’s usually only one or two outfits! I feel like I have let her down.

Well I don’t like taking my small children with me when I’m back to school shopping. It makes for a long day with back pain, headaches, and sore feet. Oh and the crying never ends. It’s hard to focus on the things you need to get when you have to stuff food in someones mouth every 5 sec. or take your newly potty trained child the bathroom 3x while in Old Navy. Ok so I went shopping with the 4 kids today, I’m drained.
Now that my children are both in High School I hate that they never know what they need until they start, and the lists keep comming home every day for the first 2 weeks!

I hate that our local schools dont give specific supply lists until open house night (usually 1-2 nights before school starts)then you cannot find all items in time for first day!
I hate how messing and chaotic stores are for back to school. Especially starting in mid August. Thanks for the giveaway!
I hate the price of all the items that are needed to go back to school the most, since money is so tight at our home!
The thing that I dislike most about Back to school shopping is the expense and the time spent shopping and cleaning! Times are tough right now and no parent wants their kids to have to go without so “pinching pennies” has a whole new meaning and especially when it comes to back to school shopping! I have to clean out my daughter’s closet and dresser and then go and buy new clothes and then the school supplies on top of the book rental at school and the gas spent driving here and there and everywhere! $500 would get it all day plus some! That would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated!!
The Crowds…Rude people…The detailed list for school supplies and most of all the bill at the end.
We enjoy checking out all of the new styles of clothes and outfits!
What I hate most about back to school shopping is that the stores don’t appear to know about year round schools. So when I have to buy supplies, there is very little to choose from and nothing is on sale

I love the great deals and motivation I get to organize with all of my new office supplies during back to school. There is something about having new supplies that makes me want to re-organize everything to be more efficient! Plus it allows my family to stock up on the things we use throughout the year for pennies compared to what they normall cost!
I hate the idea that most people think back-to-school shopping has to be some expensive, horrible experience.
I hate guessing at what sizes my daughter’s going to hit in the course of a year as I shop for her back to school clothes. It’s definitely hit or miss!
Of course I subscribe to your blog!
Though it’s extremely rare that I’m ever signed in, I follow you on twitter @zieglerlzms
What I hate most is when I can’t find the things I need and have to go to a bunch of different places.
What I most dislike about back to school is the clothes shopping. Trying to dress a teen girl with her style & my style combined. And then the dressing rooms are full of clothes from previous shoppers. Yes I wait till the last minute every year. Think I would learn
When it comes to back to school shopping, I most hate trying to find the advertised items. Most of the time, I am told it is long sold out & I hate missing out on some deals. Thanks for the giveaway!

What I could do with a $500 Walmart card – wow!
Each year they need you to buy more and more and more! It can really get expensive
I hate the other parents, sometimes! I have my kids with me and they push, shove, speak curse words! So, I have had to go by myself for the sake of my kids! UGH!

i usualy love shopping but back to school shopping tis always a chore. time, limits crowds and money shortage
I hate trying to take my girls to a store for more than 15 minutes. After 15 minutes things start to go bad with poor attention and groans and moans and the unending question, “Are we done yet?”
What I like least about back to school shopping….it is so expensive and then the school supply list times four for my grandchildren (both of my sons have four kids). Grandpa took one school supply shopping last year and it was ridiculous…everything from hand sanitizer and kleenex to plastic baggies and oh those colored folders…and they must be the exact colors and on and on and on.
the spending money of course!!!
I hate going shopping with my girls. They both have two different styles and are very picky. Anything that I think is cute or stylish usually gets a face. You know that I,m not wearing that face. It usually takes hours just to get a few outfits.
i hate that when you lookign for good deals ,or boys clothes its either picked over stuff ,or they just don’t have the prices your looking for
I hate trying to find my daughter a “proper” binder. At her school they require a binder with a zipper. Those things are huge (she’s just in elementary school) and bulky for a small child to carry. And most are expensive. I saw one this year for $21. Maybe if she was in high school i wouldn’t mind spending that much…
I love shopping for kids but the only thing i don’t like is when the stores is packed full of people and they be all in the way especially waiting in line.

As with any shopping, but more prevalent right before school starts what I hate most is the flocks of parents giving in to their ill disciplined and demanding children. Sorry to be so blunt and I love kids; I do.

It’s the amount of money I spend and the clothes-the kids do not want to try them on
I hate having to buy for 26 kids! (I am a teacher.)
I follow on twitter.
I hate how much everything costs. We can barely afford school supplies much less new clothes or electronics.
What I hate the most about school clothes shopping is that you can’t really find clothes for boys size 8 anywhere I live and what you can’t find is ugly or way to expensive. I almost wish my son wore uniforms instead. The dress code at his school prevents him from wearing somethings and those items seem to be everywhere.
I hate the trying on clothes part.
I dislike the disrespectful crowds of people.
I hate the fact that my son is a picky picky kid when it comes to clothes & we have to go to 20 different stores before we can complete his new back to school wardrobe.
I hate that I know summer is almost over!

I hate that it’s always a struggle to get my teen daughter to find clothes. She is soooo picky so it takes forever to get enought new clothes.
The one thing that always drives me nuts is trying to find the one item on each kids list that no store in town seems to carry.
The worst part is how children think they just have to have what their friends are getting.
Always seems to be something forgotten. Even with lists made.
What I hate most about schoole shopping is that everything is a competition among the kids about who has the best clothes, school supplies, etc.
how much money I have to spend at one time.

I hate going into a crowded store and hear the stressed out moms screaming at their children.
Trying clothes on….horrible.
Waiting for the girls to decide on clothes is a painful process.
The waiting in lines.
what I hate most about back to school shopping is LINES. cart jams in the aisles, then waiting in long lines to check out. the parking lot isn’t usually much better.
I hate spending inadequate money
Trying to find the cheapest prices. You buy what you think is the cheapest and then find it elsewhere cheaper
I hate the price wars I wish they would just give the bottom line prices
What I hate most is the drama of shopping for new clothes. I love the lower grades where the kids wear uniforms…no drama there because everyone wears the same thing!
Thanks for the chance to win!

Ok, hate is kind of a strong word for the way I feel, but what I don’t like is this…there are multiple opportunities to buy certain school supplies DIRT CHEAP. I wish everyone would stop by a store somewhere during the month of July and pick up a handful of school supplies for less than a buck…THEN DONATE THEM. There are schools right here in OKC full of kids who don’t even get new pencils. It breaks my heart.

I hate dealing with the crowds at stores.
I hate how the stores group all kinds of random things into the “school” section. The kids start wanting all kinds of things!
I hate this being the last year I go “Back to School” shopping. My youngest will graduate this year, and with all the craziness “back to school” brings, I can’t help the bittersweet feelings as I see my last one go off into adulthood. Enjoy these times- they’ll be gone soon enough!
The thing that I dislike the most about back to school shopping is the long lines and the pushy people that are grabbing at everything.
I try my best to teach my children to always use their manners no matter the situation. And it irks me to see adults that don’t use theirs.
But I do love shopping with my children and eating lunch out together.
The day that we spend together makes it all worth it in the end.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

What I hate most about back to school shopping is that you know in the back of your mind what you want but you have a limited amount of money to spend. I can’t stand how much some things are such as overpriced pants. No one these days has that kind of money to spend. We have greater priorities.
What I hate most about back to school shopping – EVERYTHING! My teenagers are the pickiest creatures on the planet. Drives me nuts – and probably reminds my mother of me when I was their age!

What I hate the most is that once the kids get to middle school and high school they have 4 or 5 different teachers all with their own required supplies so we end up with 4 or 5 lists of supplies to buy.
What I dont like most about back to school shopping is when the stores advertise sales and dont have the products when you get there.

I hate the cost and the time involved in back to school shopping, but in the end it is all worth it!
There are lots of things that I hate about back to school shopping, but the worst is when I have my list of things that I have left to buy after shopping sales and can’t seem to find the last items at one store. Who thought that red grading pencils could be so hard to find?

I hate spending so much money all at once, especially when I know it isn’t a one-trip deal. In a few months the kids will need more clothes and school supplies and we’ll have to head out again.
What I hate the most about back to school shopping is the crowd doing the same thing!
I like getting home and sorting through all the pretty new pens, pencils, notebooks, and erasers with all the pretty designs on them. Its so much fun to pack the backpack for the first day of school, dreaming of what the year will bring.
My daughter always wants the expensive name brand clothes and then doesn’t want to try them on. I also hate waiting for open fitting rooms when everyone else is back to school clothes shopping as well.
The thing I hate most about back to school shopping is my kids wanting things I can’t afford to buy. It depresses me so much. Yea $500 should would help pay for clothes and supplies for five kids. Thanks
I hate that I can not go and buy what I think is nice for my child. My child now has opinions and styles and that makes it frustrating at times.
That my son grew about 3 inches over the summer and I have to buy all new clothes.
I actually like back-to-school shopping…I just wish we had more time to enjoy it! Too much rushing around, so it’s nice when we can find all we need in one place. Thanks for the chance to win the generous prize!
The thing i dislike the most about back to school shoping is trying to find sneakers that fir my son’s wid efeet. He is a terrible shopper and it is really difficult to find him sneakers.

Bargain hunting. It’s a pain. While I love looking at the sale papers every Sunday, and applying for freebie and discounts; I don’t like bargain shopping. You go into a store thinking you’re getting an amazing deal, the next thing you know, an even better one pops up. In order to be a good consumer, I keep what I already got, but mope about the money I could have saved. Not saving money is always a burden. Especially when I don’t have any.

What I hate most about shopping is not being ale to find certain items that my children need for school.
I follow you on twitter – my twitter ID is thesweetmom
What I hate most is that I am on a strict budget and have to use cash. When it’s gone, it’s gone, and there is no more. My teenager does not handle this well. The fights are neverending and stressful. My four year old is easy-I can shop the clearance racks and he is happy with whatever I buy.
WOW! DOES THE COST OF GOING BACK TO SCHOOL ADD UP!!! That is the part I don’t like. Also the fact that my daughter didn’t like any of the backpacks or lunchboxes we saw at another store…so she waited til I was almost pulling into the driveway and said “I thought we were going back to get the froggy lunchbox I kind of liked”…..and then it becomes imperative we turn back as it was the last one….
What I hate the most is dragging my 4 kids around to tons of different stores and then arguing over them trying things on, or arguing over style and fit (that skirt is too short!) and arguing over affordability (no, I can not pay $65 for that pair of jeans). I spend more on their clothes in one year than I’ve spent on my own in the last 5 years.
The crowds, definteley is what I hate most LOL.
toni at juststopscreaming dot com
What bothers me most are the crowds of shoppers, and higher prices!
The thing I have always hate most about back to school shopping was when you got a supply list at registration for your teacher, and then go on the first day of school and they tell the kids that they also need these supplies too. I want to ask them, ok, so why didn’t you put that on the supply list in the first place?

I hate spending the money!
Spending the money on the hip clothes that my kids have to have.
What I hate most is getting the bill after the wife and kids get in.
The chaos, the crowds and we always end up forgetting something. Uggghhh!
What I hate about back to school shopping is the inflated prices of some items. Companies want you to think you are getting a deal because it’s “2 for” one price, but the actual price is not a good deal.
I love finding good deals for back to school clothing and supplies. Shop early for the best deals.
What I hate about back to school shopping are the prices! Nothing is really cheap these days and sometimes it’s hard to get all that you need for any type of a good price. It can be a bit frustrating.
I hate having to go to penny sales multiple times because of limits!

I hate the trying on clothes to see if they fit. It takes forever.
What I hate most about Back To School Shopping is spending countless hours trying to find exactly what my kids want, I don’t just get them ‘anything’ I get them what they want and it wastes a lot of my life lol! I also hate spending too much money of course…

I hate going clothes shopping. What they want to buy and what I want them to buy are usually two totally different things.
back to school shopping………gee what to whine about first. Need new clothes, paper, a notebook, registrations. Target is a blessing for some ‘hip’ looking clothes that are somewhat in. I just don’t get how they sell jean half the size of adult (in fabric) for just as much!! I tend to do some discount shopping without the kiddies to save some much needed money.

I got the Back to School Blues!, long lines at the store, fighting to get the kids to try on clothes, finding the right back pack to fit in the locker, and don’t forget the school fees, band fees, school pictures, I don’t even want to think about what my checkbook is going to be like after this month. what I dislike about back to school shopping is the crowds!
Clothing shopping is a real pain! It’s hard finding the right sizes, reasonable prices, and not to mention you find a lot of empty racks where the good stuff is sold out. Nothing stinks worse than the excitement of finding a cute shirt, but discovering they only have the crappy brown color left in stock
lol. Long lines are usually a pain also.

I hate trying to shop for school clothes on a very small budget. My daughter has grown out of just about everything and needs a whole new wardrobe.

The toughest part of B.T.S. is finding all the new trendy clothes the kids think they need.
I hate that every year.. 4th grade, 5th Grade etc.. the school requires yet another type of Binder,,, last yers had 3 rings. but this year must have 3 rings with velcro and a buckle strap! ridiculous that the kids need a differnt 20-30 dollar binder every year.

Its irritating when individual elementary schools all have their own supply lists, which vary by teacher and those are not given out until 2 weeks before school starts. Also dont like when they are soooo specific on what they want that they only give you one option of where to buy it at..for example, certain sizes of colored paper and very specific colors from only one brand! ahhh, kindergarden used to be so simple! ha Thanks for the chance to enter to win some much needed money!

I always hate to see school start for 2 reasons, my kids will be gone and we can’t spend the whole day together and school shopping. I stay at home so we only have 1 income and trying to dress kids for school on a tight budget is horrible. This year my daughter is a senior and so shopping is rough because she is 5′ 2″ and wears about a size 3-4 well she won’t wear the shorts they sell, she is tiny except for her thighs because she is a cross country runner so no pants fit. Well my son went from 7th grade to 9th grade this year which means no more uniforms, well he is about 5′8″ and wears a size 18 in boys, which the shorts are to short and he wont wear jeans as we live in florida and he says they are to hot. He’s also in cross country but skinny so I know school starts soon and our favorite store went out of business steve & barry’s so what I’m I going do?

“Back to School” Shopping can also be called “Lack too Cool” shopping in this house! The school supplies list always seems a little ridiculous. They want everything brand news. Used would work fine.
I hate the shopping period
The selection of school supplies with all the current “celebrities” on them is trashy. Whatever happened to plain jane. Of course, these aren’t for me, but I just don’t like the influence these “celebrities” have over the current generation. Same goes with clothing.

I hate that we only have 2 shops in town and all the kids have the same outfits for the first week of school!

I guess the thing I hate most about back to school shopping is just about everything! Each year the schools want more and more items including( this year) a scientific calculator! The cost just keeps going up. In addition to that, my 14 year old daughter really likes fashionable clothing that I just can not afford any longer.
I guess just dragging the kids to the store and them trying to buy all kinds of things that are not on the back to school list! They have their own agenda whenever we go to the store.
I don’t like how it costs so much to buy the things that I want–being a college student, it is a little bit difficult when I am also paying for tuition.
What I hate most about back to school shopping is sending my child to school with all the supplies on their list, only to have them come home with a whole other list of needed items.

What I hate most about back to school shopping is when I cannot find what I need all at the same store. I end up going all over the place to find different things they need

This shopping spree would allow me to get exactly what is needed at great prices.
I hate spending my money on unnecessary items for school. For Kindergarten I bought a mat for nappie time & my daughter only used it once! Thanks for the giveaway!
I hate having to try all there clothes on them, and they don’t like it either.
I don’t like the crouds of people. They are all after the same thing you are. Thanks.
4 boys ages 12,10,5,5—says it all
I hate the crowds of people standing around all of the supplies making it take even longer to get in and out.

It’s awful trying to get children to try on new clothes at all. Money is so tight since I have been laid off my job for the past 10 months. I do not know what I am going to do this year to make the kids happy! Hopefully I can win this contest, that would help, or the lottery! lol
Goodness it’s hard on the budget
Trying to find clothes that they like that are affordable. So much of the “trendy clothes are way out of our price range.
I subscribe.
What I hate most is the crowd. I can not get in the aisles to even attempt to get the supplies I am looking for,

I really hate that I waited until the last minute to buy everything. And then I have to run around like crazy trying to find it all.
We hate about back to school shopping that the stores have just stocked fall/winter clothes while we still have at least 3 more months of warm weather and can’t get into buying sweaters and coats with 90 degree temperatures! It is fun to shop for school supplies! thanks! senekers@comcast.net
What I dislike the most is the supply list that DEMANDS Brand names ONLY.. I don’t mind buying brand names but when I can get crayons for .66 cents or for $3.50 hmmm let me see….
I hate fighting the crowds – ahhh!
I hate how picky the lists are. Only Crayola, only certain types (fine point) markers. Ugh. I also can’t believe how many non-school supply type things were on the lists. paper towels, t-shirts, babyw ipes and shaving cream?!?

I hate having to get my sons to try on clothes…
I hate it when you go to a store and the discounted promotional items are out of stock, so you have to come back a second time to the store.
I am a teacher, so back to school shopping consists of loading up on pencils, paper, glue sticks, dry erase markers, etc. By the end of the year, everything will be gone. No leftovers. So sad.
I just hate that the stores are so danged crowded! It’s so hard to make choices with everyone running frantically around!

I hate buying new school clothes. Everything now days is so expensive and doesn’t last like it use to.
What I hate most about “Back to School” shopping is that about the time you think it’s all done you are informed in no uncertain terms that pretty much everything you’ve bought is out of style – or in other words no longer cool to be seen wearing!
I hate when I find Back to School items on sale after I’ve purchased them from the list of things my kids need.
I hate the crowds at the malls and stores the most. I try to start early to avoid the crowds rushing to get everything right before school starts.
this one helps lotsa family. thanks and good luck all
Buying clothes, definitely.

I personally like back to school shopping.
The sales are great. if you like saving money this is the time of year to do it.
What I hate is dragging my college student to buy the essentials! If we don’t share this time I come up missing cups, paper plates, towels, and mostly food that just happens to be from my cupboards!
Hate the changing back to old hours of sleeping and the getting up so early.
I’m subscribed to your blog.
I hate spending so much money. Also – the entire shopping experience for specific items. School starts Tuesday – Orientation was yesterday. I took all 3, then had to shop (with all 3) for school supplies. We went to Fred’s, CVS, and Dollar General (all near each other). I still need 10, black marbelized, composition books; 3 hand sanitizers; and 2 – 2 inch binders. And of course they wanted many other items (my kids)that I had to say “No” to. This is my first year of school shopping, but I hated trying on clothes! Everything I liked, my daughter hated. And vice versa! Not to mention that we spent about 2 hours in the dressing room because nothing fit right. And everything seems so darn expensive. If it hadn’t been for a gift card I won, she would have got no school clothes! This would help to get her some other things she need for back to school, thanks for the AMAZING giveaway!!

I hate the long lines, as we shop at the last minute…..
I hate how 5 Star notebooks can get away with selling for as much as $ 10 a pop!
I hate the commercialization that tries to convince children of all ages that they need brand name clothing to be accepted. It would be nice if the “right” clothing wasn’t hyped to be more important than actual school supplies.
I hate back to school shopping for the simple fact that you can never find what you need at one place. In today’s world teachers are so specific on what they want it can be hard to find sometimes.
I love the fact that my daughter is dealing with this now and not me, jokingly of course but this sure would help to take the edge off for all of us.
We have always helped them with the 3 kids.
Thanks for your offer.
The thing I hate most about back to school shopping is the lists they put out before school starts that everyone goes by and spends 100 dollars on(I have four kids) and then when they start school either half the stuff we got they don’t need or a whole different list is sent home. Also how much it costs to clothe four children.
I hate having to go to several different stores to find what I need. Walmart makes it easy, one stop shopping.
Having to go to several different stores for supplys because they are always out of something everywhere

I hate crowded stores, that is my least favorite part of back to school shopping. I always seem to pick the same day everyone else does.

The prices and not being able to find the right supplies
I have to travel to several stores just to find supplies because the shelves are empty.
taking all the kids and having to try things on. I hate arguing with the kids to get them to try anything on
I can stand the idea that new clothes are required for back to school…My children have not out grown anything…but that idea that new clothes are needed is still there!!!!
What I hate most about back to school shopping is the crowded stores. Everyone else is doing their shopping at the same time and it tends to get a bit too hectic. But, with $500 to spend, I’m sure that I could handle the stress.
The Crowds and the screaming kids I want this No I want this!
My least favorite thing about back to school is the expense of new clothes
What I hate most is the crowds!
What I hate most about shopping is the crowds!
I hate the crowds and the picking over everything. Also, the big boxes tend to run out of advertised specials early on.
I hate the crowds. Waiting until the last minute is the worst, too. Everyone flocks to the stores at the same time. You can barely get out with your sanity.
I hated back to school shopping when my kids were smaller because the teachers were very specific with their supply choices and I ended up going half way across town to complete the lists. Thank goodness most teachers are more generic in their choices now.
Fitting rooms.
I HATE THE CROWDS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND THE THINGS ON THE SCHOOL SUPPLIES LIST.

The thing I hate most about back to school shopping is going down the stupid list that the school gives you of supplies that you need. Every single year, at least half of that stuff never leaves the closet and just gets donated at the end of the year. Not to mention the things like chalk, kleenex, and red pens that the school suggests that we buy and bring in on the first day to give to teacher. Isn’t that what I pay school taxes for?
I hate the crowds during back to school shopping time!
