 Did you know:

French fries are the most commonly consumed vegetable by toddlers age 15-24 months?Or that soda is being served to infants as young as 8 months? These are just some of the findings from Gerber’s Feeding Infants and Toddlers Study (FITS), a groundbreaking study of the dietary patterns and nutrient intakes of 3,000 infants and toddlers from 4-24 months. The study revealed inappropriate foods entering the diet at a shockingly young age and that as many as 25% of children did not consume a single fruit or vegetable serving on a given day. Gerber is dedicated to educating consumers on the importance of starting good eating habits early through the Start Healthy, Stay Healthy campaign.  For more nutritional information and support for you and your child, please check out the website at www.StartHealthyStayHealthy.com as well as the YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/startstayhealthy .

I get my kids to eat healthy by offering up a lot of fruit with that lil’ bit of sweetness, for example cut up apples with some caramel or Peanut Butter, we make the celery logs with raisins and PB, and my children love veggies with some low-cal veggie dips.

I sneak in veggies and fruits by cutting them out in various shapes and then giving them fantastic names such as Moon Melons etc. Kiddo loves it and eats it without a fuss :)

And I’m subscribed to your blog.

Thanks for this great giveaway!

I am a subscriber – and my plan to get my kids to eat healthy is simple: offer healthy choices at home, avoid the fast food places, and try to make healthy eating habits last a lifetime. My kids are doing pretty well so far – love fruit and veggies, chicken and (lowfat) cheese, drink sufficient amounts of milk and water daily, etc.

I have a 15 month-old daughter and I’m going to try to get her to eat healthy by eating healthy myself. I’s going to be hard, but we’re trying.

I’m lucky that my daughter loves healthy food. I don’t know this has anything to do with it, but I gave her a broad variety of fruits and veggies when she was being introduced to different solid foods. If there was something my husband and I were eating that wasn’t available in a jar, I’d make my own baby food for her. We’ve got a baby boy that will be starting solids soon and I plan to do the same with him. My fingers are crossed that I’ll have the same results.

When I go shopping I try to only buy the walls. Its all fresh food, starting with fruits and veggies, then meats, dairy and last but not least the bakery. I try to only go down the isles if I need whole grain cereal ,coffee, tea, papergoods. It works and you save plenty of money.I try not buying any prepackaged foods, too many chemicals and waste to the enviroment.
Whever you cook for yourself can be made into baby food, that saves big!
Thanks for the giveaway

The easiest way to get kids to eat healthy is to provide (affordable) healthy options and to set the best example; I would eat fruit fruit fruit until I am sick of it and I have to really make an effort to include vegetables so I’m not asking or expecting of them anything I’m not willing to do myself.

Thankfully the twins eat really well. Their favorite soup is made with red lentils, carrots, potatoes, celery and onions. Today they ate Zuchini stuffed with rice & beef cooked in a tomato soup. If i make dinner and they dont want to eat, they arent getting any snacks or juice instead. Ive seen my sister in law do thsi a lot. When her daughter wont eat, shel grab some pudding and applesauces to feed her, even pretzel snacks. I think this teaches a kid that if you dont want to eat whats for dinner, you can always have snacks instead- not good IMO.
