**WINNER**

The winner is Dawn!
You guys may remember that I was picked to be a Frigidaire Test Drive Mom courtesy of Mom Central. I was given all new appliances including a new HE Washer and Dryer! I am still absolutely in love with it! That is why I want to make sure I take care of it and keep it in tip top condition so that I can help prolong the life of them.

Tide Washing Machine Cleaner

Tide Washing Machine Cleaner

If you own an HE Washer and Dryer you will know that if you don't let the washer air dry enough between washes it can cause a not so pleasant odor! It's a very common problem. Because you use less water in these machines, odor causing residue can build up in unseen places like the back of the drum, hose or drain. Tide has come out with a new Tide Washing Machine Cleaner that will help remove that odor. You use it about once a month. It helps keep the odor from transferring over to your clothes as well. Tide Washing Machine Cleaner can also be use in traditional machines as well.

To use Tide Washing Machine Cleaner follow these easy steps:

  • Place one pre-measured packet of powder into the powder dispenser of your HE machine
  • Run a cycle on hot without clothing
  • Repeat this process each month to ensure your machine is residue free and performing at its best

With today's economy consumers can't afford not to take care of the items they already own! Tide is going to make that very easy for one lucky ConsumerQueen.com Reader ! One lucky reader is going to win a Year's Supply of Tide Washing Machine to help keep there washer in tip top shape!

To Enter:

Would love to know how many of you out their have  an HE machine vs. a traditional machine. Do you find that odor is a problem?

I don’t have a washer right now and I’m washing clothes in the tub, but when I did have a traditional washer I would notice odors.

We have a traditional washer/dryer combo but I don’t have an odor problem because I add 1/2 white vinegar to every washload to eliminate odors in the fabrics and mineral build-up in the machine and hoses. Its a carry-over from washing diapers and I found it works well with all wash loads. And no it doesn’t leave your clothes smelling like vinegar. In fact, my loads are cleaner and brighter since I started doing that.

I have an he washer and i have not had that problem, i leave the door open when it is not in use. My sister has the same washer and has had this problem over and over again. My washer has been in storage now for 6 months due to construction so I will be curious to see what happens now.

I have a traditonal washer and have problems with odor because someone usually leaves the washer lid down instead of leaving it up and letting the machine air dry when it is empty.

WISH I had an HE, but our traditional does the job, so shouldn’t complain.

I have noticed when I do not leave the lid open, there is an odor to the machine the next time I go to use it.

I didn’t even “think” to CLEAN the machine. Will definitely look into this in the future.
