My son is almost 12. He’s at the in-between stage where he’s not a little kid anymore, but he’s not a teenager. This means he is so hard to shop for! He’s out grown toys and everything else that he wants is either too expensive or it leaves him sitting on the couch staring at the TV.

This year for Christmas I wanted to get him something cool. Something fun and exciting. I wanted it to be something special to show that he’s not a little child anymore. I decided to get him a BB gun! We recently moved from a small apartment to a country home on 5 acres and now have plenty of space for him to have some fun!

I know the first thing that’s probably going through your mind is the famous quote from The Christmas Story, “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out!” As a slightly over protective Mom I thought the same thing. So after he unwraps his gun on Christmas morning, before he even gets to shoot it, we are going over ALL the safety rules!

I then hit the computer to do a little research and see what I had to choose from. I spent some time on the  Daisy website. It was the first brand that came to mind, probably since they’ve been around for over 125 years! I was sold.

After I had my mind set up that this was going to be his Christmas present I headed to Walmart. I wanted my husband to come along with me because BB guns seem to be more of a Dad thing!  I was glad that I took him with me, but he got so distracted looking at all the cool toys for the “Big Boys!”

We decided to get the Daisy Red Ryder BB gun, a bottle of BBs, targets and safety glasses. Now the trick is to hide it all before Christmas. At this age they are starting to get sneaky and they know all my hiding places. I will make sure to wrap it so he doesn’t sneak a peek!

You can seen my whole shopping experience here! It was a family adventure!

I am so excited to give my son his present! I know he is going to love it.

And now for some exciting news….IT’S GIVEAWAY TIME!! One lucky winner will receive a Daisy Prize Pack which includes a Daisy BB gun, BBs, and safety glasses.
