Understanding Extra Care Bucks (ECB) * Shopping CVS

If you’re new to CVS and don’t have any ECB from a previous shopping trip to use on the first transaction then the amount you pay will be your “seed money”. “Seed money” is the money you pay out of pocket to get your first Extra Care Bucks (ECB) to use on future purchases.

Last week we ended up with $4.00 in ECB (from Glade). I will be incorporating these into this week’s scenario.

We’ll be getting $20.67 worth of product for $5 (+ any applicable sales tax) out of pocket and have $3 ECB to use next week. That’s a savings of about 75%!

Beauty Club members will also have $6.00 in purchases that will apply towards their FREE $5 ECB.

Save your $3.00 in ECB as we will use it in next week’s scenario

Remember you don’t have to do both the transactions in one day or even at the same CVS.

Transaction #1:

Buy Hershey’s Simple Pleasures .75-oz. .67
Buy 4 Colgate Cavity Protection, Baking Soda/Peroxide Whitening 6.4-oz. or Kid’s Toothpaste 4.6-oz 2/$4.00
Subtotal: $8.67
Use (4) .75/1 Colgate Toothpaste 4.0+ SS 8-26 (exp. 9-15)
Use $4.00 ECB from last week
Final price: pay $1.67 (+ any applicable sales tax) + get $4 ECB (Colgate) + .67 ECB (Hershey)

Buy 2 Right Guard Total Defense 5 Body Wash or Bar Soap 6-pk 2/$6.00
Buy 2 Right Guard Total Defense 5 or Dry Idea Deodorant (excl. twin pks & aerosols) 2/$6.00

Use (2) $1.00/1 Any Right Guard Total Defense 5 Body Wash, Bar Soap or Deodorant RP 8-19 (exp.9-16)
