Understanding Extra Care Bucks (ECB) * Shopping CVS

If you’re new to CVS and don’t have any ECB from a previous shopping trip to use on the first transaction then the amount you pay will be your “seed money”. “Seed money” is the money you pay out of pocket to get your first Extra Care Bucks (ECB) to use on future purchases.
Last week we ended up with $4.00 in ECB (from Almay). I will be incorporating these into this week’s scenario.
We’ll be getting $34.55 worth of product for $8.57 (+ any applicable sales tax) out of pocket and have $4 ECB to use next week. That’s a savings of about 74%! You pay even less if you received the $4 off $20 purchase email cpn, the $3.00 off Olay facial care scanner cpn or both!
Beauty Club members will also have $25.56 in purchases that will apply towards their FREE $5 ECB.
Save your $4.00 in ECB as we will use it in next week’s scenario

Use $4.00 ECB from last week
Final price: pay $6.59 + get $4 ECB (Olay body wash)
If you received the $4.00 off $20 purchase email cpn you can use it on the transaction above and pay only $2.59 out of pocket. Just make sure that is the first cpn you hand over to the cashier! You can also use the $3.00 off any Olay facial care from the CVS scanner (if you received it). If you’ve got both the first transaction is all FREE – you’ll just pay tax!
