There is a HUGE egg recall of over 380 million shell eggs that may have made people sick due to Salmonella in over 4 states including Oklahoma.(shell eggs only)
The Associated Press says that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are working with state Health Departments to investigate the illness. No Deaths reported so far.
The following brand names may have been affected: Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps. Eggs are packed in varying sizes of cartons (6-egg cartons, dozen egg cartons, 18-egg cartons, and loose eggs for institutional use and repackaging) with Julian dates ranging from 136 to 225 and plant numbers 1026, 1413 and 1946. Additional brands specific to Northern and Central California and Reno, Nevada, include Bayview, Mountain Dairy, Nulaid, and Sun Valley. Affected plant numbers are 1091 (Julian date 167-174), 1686 (Julian date 142-149), and 1951 (Julian date 193-210).
