I recently had the chance to attend the Sundance Film festival with Fast Fixin and Barber Foods whom I now work for full time. We had a blast serving our Steak-EZE Philly Steak sandwiches and DriveThru Cheeseburgers and Chicken sandwiches to the stars and they were a HUGE hit! This week I was able to see just exactly how different  a Stars life really is.They are shuffled around, they have no privacy and some of them have really pushy publicists who don't let them make their own decisions. You could tell many of them were just completely exhausted. Our venue was held in the Fender Music Lodge and there were a ton of great vendors there including Bear Paw, Udi's & Quivvers. Quivvers is really unique hip way to carry around your phone, ID and cash when traveling without looking like a geek with a fanny pack. It's so comfortable that I totally forgot I was wearing and panicked when I couldn't remember where I had put my cell phone. You can see me sporting my reversible Quivver in the picture above. (I accidentally had it on backwards and didn't notice before I took this picture LOL) I was excited to see Bear Paw there and let me tell you they were a HUGE life saver. I have never been to Park City, UTAH before and I was not prepared for all the snow that hit us. We literally almost got stuck in our parking space. The boots I brought were way to fashionable and definitely not appropriate for this kind of weather. They were generous enough to hook me up with a pair and let me tell you they are so comfy and they kept my feet warm and dry the entire trip.They are made from sheepskin and very stylish! We met lots of celebrities and many of them were so nice.The one that intrigued me the most was meeting Jackson Rathbone who play's Jasper in the movie Twilight. I had no idea that he played in a band. The Band is called 100 Monkeys and they are actually quite good. I love how they move around and take turns playing different instruments and signing. Jerad who is also a member of the band was such a sweetie and had is own booth their for a company called The Watch Box.

From of the City of Angels comes 100 Monkeys, a band described by SPIN.com as “funk rock” and by RollingStone.com as “tribal sounds with vocals recalling Jim Morrison’s baritone croon.” Beyond Race Magazine says they are “sing-along-worthy, sometimes bluesy” and MTV.com describes them as a mix of “Iggy Pop with the Raconteurs.”

Other Stars such as Helen Hunt, James Marsden,Danny Glover, Third Eye Blind, Liv Tyler, Ethel Kennedy,Sgourney Weaver, Skylar Gray and many more also attended.

We are starting to see a trend not only for us but other bloggers as well that hold free  coupon classes. Please be considerate when you sign up for a coupon class. We do not charge for our classes but people are really starting to take advantage of that. They are reserving spots and then not showing up leaving others who really wanted to get in out to dry. I really do not want to have to start charging for our classes in order to get people to commit. This happened at our Buy For Less Class Tuesday night! Not only that but people are working hard to put packets together and companies are putting their resources in for prizes and goody bags for you.

We will be reviewing the next 6 months worth of classes and if this continues to be a habit we will in fact have to rethink about offering classes for free. Our moms who teach are taking time out of their families schedule to come show you how to save money. Let's try to be more considerate. Do not sign up for a class if you are not for sure you can make it.

It is with deep regret that I inform you I have withdrawn myself from the Cheap Sally contest. I say regret only because I know you worked hard voting for me. But honestly? I feel RELIEVED!  I know you will be disappointed but I can't very well promote a site and ask you to shop if I don't believe in them anymore. The icing on the cake was when I submitted my day 13 deal. The site said it was submitted but apparently did not go through. I had even saved all my screen shots and everything.I  didn't even notice it didn't go through until tonight.

I thought it only fitting with the new Muppet Movie coming out that I share my interview I did with Kermit the Frog at Disney last year. Kermit was such a gentleman in taking time to speak with me and answer some of my questions. He even mentioned that Miss piggy visits our blog LOL. Some of you may or may not know I am a Savings.com Deal Pro. I am currently in N.Y. attending SaveUp 11 which is a conference for like minded money saving bloggers.There are over 40 money saving experts attending.Savings.com has challenged us to share our savings story, although I have this in my bio I don't think I shared this on the actual blog.

My Story:

I am 36 years old and I just celebrated 16 years of marriage with my husband on October 7th. I have 2 children & 2 dogs,. We live in Edmond,Oklahoma. I have also been a member of Edmond Road Baptist Church for 30 years where I participate in the music ministry. I was a stay at home for 12 years and started my site to help friends and family learn how to save money. It was a great hobby for me and it felt great being able to contribute to my family.

In 1996 my daughter was born and the Dr's told us she had a 50/50 chance of living. After spending a week in NICU we were able to bring her home.At that time our insurance did not cover pregnancy and on top of that we had the expensive bills from the NICU Unit. I was a nervous wreck on what we were going to do.

In 2005 my husband was rushed to the emergency room on Easter morning and was later diagnosed with a degenerative disease called “ankylosing spondylitis”. Our life was totally about to change. Since there is no cure for this disease we have spent lots of hours in and out of the hospital, several surgeries and more meds than I can count on my fingers. My once small time hobby of pinching a few pennies here and cutting a few coupons there turned into a necessity. The Remicade infusions that he takes are $8,000 every 6 weeks. This is just one of his many meds .Without insurance it would be a scary situation. My mom has has Klippel-Feil Syndrome which she has had from birth. Basically she has fusion of the last 2 cervical and all of the thoracic vertebrae which causes Scoliosis. The last 3 ribs in front are also fused. She also has a splitting of the Spinal Cord in the cervical area about 1 to 2 cm. In 2009 my mom got very sick and had to go on disability. In Jan. of 2010 we made the decision to have my mom move in with us.(2011 My mom is now living in her own apt.)This has been a struggle both financially and emotionally for our entire family. But I have a strong Christian faith and God has helped us get through this tremendously. He has helped me see that there are many families out there struggling just like us and has blessed me with the ability help teach others about my frugalness. That’s when my hobby became a ministry.

It’s not about how much money “I” can save, it’s about how many more people can we reach and help! Anyone can be a “Coupon Queen” it just takes a little bit of dedication and self discipline. Now that I am working full time I do struggle with not being able to do as much shopping as I use to but feel good knowing that I am still helping others. One day I hope to find a job working from home, making the same salary I am now and still have the insurance benefits. I now work for Fast Fixin as their Internet Marketing Manager full time and still run my blog.
