Not sure why I am posting this late. Maybe cause I don’t have anyone to call this late that I can talk to. It’s almost midnight and I was awaken to Daniel literally screaming from the other room. He has already taken all the meds he can tonight. This has been one of our worst nights ever in a long time. It was so bad that I tried to make him understand that he needed to calm down for the kids sake, because they would have been scared to death to see him like this. How do you tell someone who is in that amount of pain to calm down? How do you put yourself in their shoes?How do you truly understand what they are going through?

How do you get through a night watching someone you love scream in pain knowing there is nothing you can do for them? I can’t really describe what it’s like watching a grown man turn into someone so helpless. Sometimes it’s really hard being the strong one. Working full time, going with many a night with no sleep sometimes starts to take a toll on you. My blog, my readers are sometimes the only thing that keeps me going. Sometimes I don’t understand why God has given us this journey but I truly believe everything happens for a reason.I received some very good news today at work so naturally it was the perfect time for the Devil to take his toll. I’m not asking you to feel sorry for us tonight, I am only asking you to do one thing! Turn to the one you love and tell them you love them, never take the time you have with them for granted. Be thankful for your health and enjoy the things you have always wanted to do.(enjoy the little things). You never know what’s around the corner.

Uggh I am so mad that FedEx lost my swag box from BlogHer! The business center did not open like it was supposed to the morning I was supposed to check out but the hotel “assured” me that they would take care of it! I was so scared to give it to them but had no other choice as I had to catch a plane. They took my ticket, taped it to the box and stuck it inside the business center. I know it’s only stuff,  but it’s the whole point that I “paid”  and trusted  FedEx to deliver it! Plus my Swiffer award was in there. Ya’ll (yes I said Ya’ll remember I am from Oklahoma) know I worked hard for that one LOL!

My good friend Monica from MommyBrainReports has been trying to help me out. She used to work for FedEx! The first time she called they said they would put a trace on it. She called back later in the week and they said  they hadn’t put a trace on it so it never got a ticket. I was like, are you kidding me? So the supervisor said she would put a trace on it herself.

 Monica contacted me tonight and informed me they cannot find it so now we have to put in a claim form!!! Uggh do they know how much stuff I got LOL? So now I will have to contact all the companies to make sure I get an accurate count of what was in it!

The good thing is, I met so many great people and made so many lasting friendships and FedEx can’t take those memories away! Thank goodness! It’s only stuff, but it sure would have been nice to bring it home and show my family and share! Some of the items I had planned on giving to people I know who really need them and that’s what makes me even more upset!

So maybe this is just a way for me to vent my frustration LOL!

Forgot to mention that it showed it was picked up from the Hotel!

*** UPDATE 8/11/09***

Got an email from Fed Ex today! They found my box and it is being mailed today and I should receive it in 3 days. Apparently, they did have it under my name but they were telling me they didn’t so someone messed up! It had been there since the 4th! So I guess my blog helped someone higher up find out about what was happening! Thanks to Monica and Maria at FedEx for helping us!

For a long time we have always had our kids do chores with out reward other than a good job here or some sort of praise. We did not want our kids growing up thinking they had to get something for doing chores that they should do normally anyways. I wanted my kids to also know how to be independant when they left the house and be able to do things  for themselves.

As they have gotten older my thinking has changed some what. We have decided to start giving our kids an allowance because we want them to start learning the value of money and how to start saving. We decided to start giving our kids $10 a week. Out of that $10 they would give $1 in tithes to church and the rest left over they would split in 1/2. One half would go in savings and the other half they can keep and spend on whatever they want. I am very grateful that we have started our kids early, at almost age 10 and 13 my kids know how to clean their own bathroom, wash their own clothes,vaccum,load and unload the dishwasher, cook and a few other things etc. Some of the these things we still do for them of course as parents but at least we know, if they had to, they know how to do it. My kids still clean their rooms and feed the animals as part of their responsibility and they do still clean there own bathroom. They will also from time to time take on the other chores just so we know they still know how to do it. Sort of a test you might say LOL.
