Apple said a software update for its Apple TV product will be available within two weeks, later than planned.

The update, which lets users rent online movies, isn’t finished, Apple said Wednesday.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is discounting some products by as much as 30 percent as it aims to lure customers by under-pricing rivals.

The price reductions will be available on thousands of items, including food, televisions, gym equipment and home products.

Travelers who want to kill 60 minutes watching “60 Minutes,” or even a football game, will get their chance next year on select Continental Airlines flights.

The carrier will offer 36 channels of live programming from satellite provider DirecTV starting in January 2009. It also plans to introduce WiFi service to power e-mail and instant messaging connectivity.

Domino’s Pizza has started a service that allows U.S. customers to track an order’s progress from the time it’s placed to when it gets to the delivery van.

Domino’s said the service is available to customers ordering by phone.

More than two-thirds of children ages 9 to 14 download music from the Internet, and the most popular means is Apple’s iTunes online store, according to a survey from NPD Group. The next most popular site at 26 percent is Limewire, where music files are swapped for free illegally.
